ALABAMA anyone?
Not trying to make anybody look bad, just laying out the facts... FACT: Phil is boycotting a high quality event that even he likes, not because IFO did something wrong, but because he wasn't given a free pass. He was actually even offered a free pass, just not up front.
I brought my entire hungry family to McDonalds and they all ate. I then asked the manager for a free hamburger and he wouldn't give it to me, BOYCOTT! Who's with me? LOL, just joking... settle down, guys

All they care about is getting some cash. Save your money folks and spend it with some true auto enthusiast rather than another bunch of folks out exploiting the ricer fade for their own profit.

Obviously, they once again dodged the question of how much it costs to bringing in one person free to the event.. Does it cost you guys $3, $5, $7, $10, or More than $10??? As I mentioned before, and I say it again... How would I look if I was go get monetary compensation for passing out flyers for some riced out event when I'm organizing one of the biggest rotary event in SE for FREE?? Also, As said before, I'm not bringing a car that no one wants to see?? Hmm.. You guys are just missing the point. Also, do you think I'm blind to see that you might be jacking the price of the entry to compensate for the payouts you have to make for the people who passed out those flyers?? If you didn't, you guys are once again aren't too good of a businessmen.
And also asking RX7 community to support?? What have you guys done to support us?? At least I've been on this forum answering questions, organizing events, helping local and regional 7 owners, and such... what about you guys?? What this ricefest is a way of supporting?? So, once again, how much does it really cost you guys to bring "one" person into the show??
And its also obvious that Kellie wasn't really Kellie. Don't try to spin things and trying to make me look bad.. COME ON!!
Cliff, Kellie, and whom ever you are, I once again invite you guys to my event, Deals Gap Rotary Rally 2006. I'll provide you with Free lunch, Free drive, Free lecture about rotary cars.. And as said before, you don't need to pass out any flyers..
OH, If I had time I would support this event:
StreetCarForums' 4th Annual Draggin' For Toys Charity Race Event
Its organized by someone acturally owes a RX7, who supported the rx7 community, and Ive met Roy in the past. And its 1 week after this riced out fest! So, if ANY RX7 owners reading this, go Support Roy, not some jackasses trying to make money!!

PS... Anything you say or do will not even dent me on my event.. you know why?? Because my event is free!! People don't show, it doesn't matter, I'm not after some money! Obviously you all (CLiff, Adam, and Kellie) are more interested in paid participants = more money. You know what that's call, Greed! Isn't that one of the 7 sins?? Hmm.. That's right.. I just want things for FREE! Right?? I just take take take!!

Phil, thanks for the suggestions, but what does any of that have to do with the silly fact that you want to boycott something just because you can’t get it for free when everyone else GLADLY pays? Step back and think hard on how funny this really is. Here’s a perfect example that will hopefully help you understand... I like going to the movies. When I go I usually convince a big group of friends to come with me. I start thinking the movie theater should give me free entry because I’m bringing a lot of people with me. I ask for free entry, but the theater says no. Now I whine and complain and ask others to boycott it because they wouldn’t give me free entry. Wouldn’t you think someone acting like that is pretty ridiculous? Well, you are doing the EXACT same thing, only with a car show, not a movie. You need to realize that IFO has done NOTHING wrong to you.
As for what it costs... It's just like the theater, a "depends" situation. The promoters do not receive a penny until the production costs are paid for. If the show costs $15,000 to produce, but only $10,000 comes in the front gate, the event loses $5000. If $20,000 comes in, the event makes a $5000 profit. Understand? It's not a "per head" amount like what you may think.

It sure is funny how all this turned out..
One person's boycott has turned in to 2 pages on the forum.. Funny! Definitely!
And I like the examples you are giving.. Hmm.. have you heard of the press getting free entry or special guest or people who work at the theater, friends of the manager of the theater, people who help out at special promotions at the theater?? Geez, why did you even practice what you practiced in past 2 years and now preaching me about movie theaters and such?? Do you think that make sense?? Did some religious revelation occured in your lives and all the sudden, "hmm, we were idiots to give free entrance to people who helped us". Geez, if you started by sticking to this NEW principles from the beginning, I would of just ignored it two years ago and said, "**** this riced out fest in Alabama!". Do I still don't make sense to you?? Come on, keep up the come backs! Obviously you guys enjoy as much as I do! LOL! At this point, I have nothing to loose.. I think you guys might??

PS.. your theater metaphor amuse me.. Seems like you know a lot about movie theaters.. then you also know they make good chunk of the money on overly priced candies, drinks, and 10 cent popcorns they charge 5 bucks for. In relation to the track, track also has a concession stand.. hmm.. co incidence?? I don't think so..

Ohhh.. No more posts by the "Three Stooges". I saw that you guys (and a girl) reading this.. Come on.. Lets keep on going.. I'm enjoying this!! I want to hear more about how i'm cheap and that I have no clue about how movie theaters and ricefests work! LMAO!!!
This company should actually be paying for the advertising they are doing on this forum. It's only fair to the vendors and organizers of group buys on here that pay their fair share for bandwidth when making money off the postings. IFO contributes nothing to this forum as Rx7 or car enthusiasts but instead waste bandwidth while attempting to make money.

No Man I'm not gonna be able to make it. My co-worker had something come up and had to go out of town, so I need to work at Waterford (subdivision in Calera) from noon til 5pm. Are you going to eat afterwards?

Next year when you guys come back on the forum, I'll make sure to reference this thread (like you refenced my old thread) so that people will know how cheap I am.. My offer still stands regarding you guys coming out to my event for a FREE lunch and good times!
nakedfzone, We'll go somewhere to eat. Call me on my cell.

I'm still awaiting to see your response to my questions...
Nakedfzone, it was good to see you today! We'll gather again next month sometime.. Oh, Next saturday @ Trussville Mazda, some of us CAMS members will gather for a shop day. Come and meet some other Mazda owners (mainly miata owners)!

Wow, you would think a $15,000 show would draw the interest of several SPONSORS that would absorb most of the "Production" costs so that an event such as this could be offered at little or no cost to those attending. It works for our Deals Gap event!
And better cars = more people attending = more interested sponsors = profitability!!! What a concept.

ok anyway, putting all the bitching aside, i have a car club that will be going. talking around 20 quality show cars from huntsville. 10 or so trophied at nopi nationals.(this doesn't matter at all though) I will be going, but i wont be driving a rotary of any sort(dont wanna chance the whole reliability of any of my rotory cars)
so i will let you two or three of four people type up another 3 or 4 pages about something that wouldn't sway alot of pople to boycot this show. Expecially with this being the one good show to end the show season

I've been to several of their events in Louisiana, the one in the spring didn't have enough gate workers (40 minute wait), sparse security (one local deputy), rampant underage drinking, and their entertainment, i.e. the wigger rappers beat the **** out some guy and the random car next to him. That last one convinced me not to waste my time anymore. I'm sure they'll blame the things I've mentioned on the track but my reply would be it's their name on the event. Most of the little ricers don't give a damn and are too stupid to realize they are being ripped off.
It's a real disppointment that NHRA and other large import events stopped coming to Houston and Dallas. Those events cost the same to enter but you get your money's worth.
I wish North Carolina weren't such a hike from New Orleans.

RX7 moderators have always OKed our event announcements, even stickied them, mainly because we never incessantly bump them like Phil is doing now. To those PMing and going to the event, thanks for the support! Weather permitting, this years event will be bigger and better than ever! BOTS has attracted a lot of “big dogs”, so should be quit interesting
. Oh yeh and don't forget the Midget Wrestling, lol. Puppet and crew go on at 2:30 on the day of the show.
Phil, you couldn't get in for free, please get over it already.

Finally a post!! Well, still didn't answer my questions.. I guess a 16 year old "Gilgamesh" give you guys a support you needed to post.
I guess you guys are still stuck on that idea and totally ignoring what I asked, the reason I keep bumping this thread. Please read back few posts.. read it multiple times and see if you could answer some of the questions.. I'll help you by posting it here..
Person who knows nothing about me and haven't contributed to this forum saying all I want to do is get in for free.. and used some lame theater metaphor to say I have no clue what I was talking about.. I think you guys are stuck at the idea that I'm some 16 year old thinking, "I gotta goto this show because there are going to be cool cars!". Come on, give me a break!! Please get down from your high egos and look around.. better yet, read the other posts.. I know you guys been reading it... I have no intention of going nor care for your ricefest. I was mearly helping.. As we all now clearly understand you guys don't appreciate and can't differentiate what help is. At this point, I just want you to answer some of the questions I've asked.. Obviously you guys are ignoring it because someone might be right.. Hmm.
I agree with you Jack! Obviously these clowns only think of money.. Its clear from the start.. They start giving away free entrance for helping out (for 2 years), then they realized, hmm.. I give them 2 bucks a piece to bring others into our event and entrance is $25, we could get that money back because we'll charge those who helped us and it only cost us 3 bucks instead of $25!! Isn't this how you guys think?? Hence avoiding the question of, what it really cost you guys??
SO, Lets talk about how I want to get in for free.. I'm boycotting because they way you guys use people!

Or did you guys just pulled it out of your ***!! So, you guys are still avoiding the question of how much does it take to bring someone in for free?? All I need is an approximation based on your previous two experience at MMP and what your future projected figure might be? Is that too hard to do (unless your expected profit is so high)?? So, last year you lost money and can't give out free entrance to those helped?? (help = someone spending their own time to promote someone else's event... ). If you guys say yes to that, WOW! I'm sorry for all this and I'll tell everyone!

Is there anyone from/around enterprise, if so email me at pfc_mooney@yahoo.com
There is no way to make a projected figure on an outdoor racing event. Everything is dependant on something the promoters have no control over, weather. Entry fees are determied by what customers consider a good price, which from the reviews (yours included) have proven to be great in the past.
AGAIN, the reason you weren't given free entry up front is because we don't know you. Last year you emailed claiming to help by bringing several 7s to the event, so we gave you free entry up front, BUT there were hardly any 7s there, making us feel you did not really help. That is why this year we offered to give you the free entry AFTER the event instead of before. Again, we don't know you, have never met you, only know that you're someone who has claimed to help, but we have never seen any proof that you really have, hence the reason why we asked you to use the promoter program this year so we would know for sure. You did not have to get defensive about it. All our promoters (140+) from every location understand this simple exchange and sign up for it, all of them except for you. Last year we made an exception and gave you two free passes, plus mailed you about 100 flyers, which all cost us about $37 (value of free passes, flyers, and shipping). No way we were going to do that again this year, especially after not seeing all the 7s you were claiming to bring last year. You can say you helped, but we'll never know since you refused to mark off your flyers.
Phil, why do you even ask? It doesn't take anything to bring someone for free, but that still doesn't mean we can give anybody free entry. Even someone who "claims" to help, we're going to refuse, because we don't know if they are really going to. The promoters who sign up and do help, always get free entry. Their flyers that come in show for it. You refused to be on the program the way it is supposed to be, so you did not get your free entry. Stop whining about it.
Stop being a hypocrit by implying IFO is a ricefest and not a good event when you already publicly posted that it is a "fun" show in the past.
Trout,
Nopi and NHRA won't back to Texas because there was not enough financial support from the fans. Both series' did not make enough, so they decided not to come back in 2005 OR 2006. IFO prices are not "the same" as Nopi events. Spectator entry into a regular, 2 day Nopi event is $25 per day. IFO entry costs $15 with a flyer.
