Update on "situation"
I got a call about an hour ago from p.j. (i think , or d.j.) at Walkers, he was very apolagetic and explained the entire situation to me. It made much MORE sence. I was given a few options, with regard to geting my car tuned.
I guess i need to clear up a few things about my experience. The first night I went there, Blake (Walker) and the other guy (p.j.) squeezed me in and were EXTREAMILY nice and patient with me. Blake took the time to explain serveral keys points to me. He appears to be VERY pationate about what he does and it shows in his work. I have spken with SEVERAL people about this and found this to be the first time ANYONE has EVER had a negative experience with this shop. I have only heard very positive things about the crew over there. In hindsight, I honestly believe that Blake was actually trying to do me a HUGE favor and have me hook up with Steve. I believe, the tunning session got really indept and required alot of attention by shop workers.
In closing, I have learned alot about the fd community here and am proud to be a part of it. Its really nice to see a forum where prople are trying to help one another.
Thanks O Insightful FD Guru's lol,
Christopher

Lets meet up for dinner tomorrow night at J&N in Trussville. Say 7:30ish??
Christopher, i would like to check out your car and you could pick Chris and my brain tomorrow night if you like. I don't know if anyone else will show but at least two of us could give you some input about owning an FD.
Word of advice on this forum and other members you might talk to..
You could listen to whoever you wish... but always think about what they say and come up with your own opinion. I know some of the crap you hear on this forum or from other rotary owners are full of crap.. So, you need to filter that out on your own... Including what I might say to ya

Hey Huntsville People, wondering if I could ask a favor. The flex hose to the bottom of my innercooler split, and I am in need of another. I was wondering if any of you local guys who went big single might have one of these lying around? If so it would be greatly appreciated if I can get it from you :-)
Cheers,
Matt

Well, I sold my VR R1 FD... just a shell though. I'm putting out the motor from it hopefully this weekend (weather permitting since I can't pull it inside the garage).
I'm waiting on my final few parts for the Blk FD from Japan and from ShineAuto.. Once they come in, Its time for paint!!
And once the Blk FD is running, then I'm going to put dual coolers on the MB, ducts, IC piping, etc.. Then I'm going to take a LONG vacation away from rotary!! LOL!

Phil, what happened to having a track car? I thought that was what the VR was for?
Also, not that anyone cares, but if I happen not be around on the forum a lot this fall it's because I'm "zoned" in on football. I've got fantasy football going on and I plan on going to a few Auburn games and Titans games and at least one Chicago Bears game in October. So if something is going on like a gathering or event and I haven't been on here in a while, someone please call me at 256-762-2337 or email me at dtfagent907@yahoo.com

Well...I will chime in
I have finally got the car running again. The alternator AND my Optima died on me....
Optima REFUSED to cover me under warranty since they no longer carry the 51R series due to "Quality Issues".......they are redesigning that series supposedly, but left me hanging....
Autozone would not cover me either until I finally talked to a manager who cared, and I ended up with a new Gold series with an 8 year warranty....so I guess that will be ok for now.
The car has been driving better, and now I can get full 10psi pattern, but there is the dreaded hesitation at changeover from vacumn to positive manifold pressure....I will get that fixed.
Then my left rear CV Halfshaft grenaded on me today....so now I need another part....go figure...haha...
I will try to get some pictures of the car that are larger than my Avatar so you can all see how it is coming along....later.

And as for my progess on my car I'm just working on some brake ducts, that will have to be finished by next weekend. I do plan on getting a harness and a roll bar before next season's track days start up, Feb or March. But besides that I have no immediate plans for my car except for to drive it and have fun. It's quick, fun, and I'm tired of spending so much money on it, so I'm going to take a break on upgrading until the engine goes.
