mopar commando (classic car) vs srt-4
Okay, you guys make it seem like big blocks are the ****, V8's are good engines don't get me wrong. LS1 FD's are pretty sick too. SRT-4's are good cars for the price, WRX are cool, but the SRT-4 put's down more power than the WRX. A buddy of mine has an SRT-4, with Basic mods, and runs 12.7 @ 111 mph.

it was a close run, the SRT-4 only got beat by 11/2 car lengths, bigger turbo, and a few more mods, the SRT would own on that Mopar, but if the Mopar Commando got more mods, it would be a different story
i have to share my 2cents on all this, partly because i own an srt4. do some research, own or drive one, then speak on the facts. with nothing more then a $10 manual boost controller i ran 13.7 @ 106, its got four doors, seats four people comfortably, gets 30mpg, starts everytime i turn the key and still is the fastest sport compact car you can buy for 20k. the motor that is in it is not the same motor that is in the pt cruiser or stratus. the pt turbo gets the same setup detuned and such but anyway, the motor is built from the factory, forged pistons, rods, nitride treated valves, ect.... it can put down 500+ to the wheels on all stock internals. for $3800 put a mopar stage 3 kit and some slicks on it and run 11's and still drive it on the street everyday. too many people bash it just because it is a dodge. the wrx is a good car, but you have to buy an sti to be faster stock for stock and thats an extra 10k. and the wrx is notorious for blown trannys and a solid pain in the *** to work on. i know first hand, just spent 20hrs doing most the major bolt ons on an 04 sti and i would not do it again! it was a bigger pain then anything short of a full rebuild i have done on my 7. and blah blah v8 big block power, we all know that huge engines make huge power, but take that to the gas pump!

The word Neon and Turbo don't belong in the same sentence, I think that's why they changed that one to the SRT-4. I will admit when they came out, I thought they'd be cool, but I realized for $20,000 I could make my POS '97 Hyundai Accent go just as fast, and still save $10,000.
Because the average Neon driver is 16 to 20, and mom and dad thought it was "a cool little car." Needless to say the average driver is also a cocky son of a bitch and liks to pick on Geo Metros on the highway. Lol.
