the car that i sold my rx7 for
But anyway, my buddy had an EK with a b16 swap with T1r exhaust and a dc header and intake. It was definetly quick, but he spent 5k on the car and 2500 on the swap. Plus the exhaust and ****, probably around 9k in the car. You can get a stock TII for what 3500? Put $5500 and see what you get.
Trust me being from the bay area I have seen more than my fair share of hondas and ricers. I am a performance freak so anything that can produce results I respect. There are those "Honda" guys out there that do things right and not try to show it. In referance I have two freinds one EG hatch with fully biult K20 this thing is rediculous Ive been with him in several runs against bikes on the freeway where has has pulled on them well beyond 140mph and still went. All he does since he put the motor in is change the oil every 5k and this is over a year ago in which he daily drives it. I have another freind with a street legal but track oriented eg hatch with a b18c which is a type r motor with bolt ones but every suspension upgrade you can think of and ive taken right hand turns at a light at upwards of 40mph it sticks like nothing I have ever been in other than a go kart which is the only thing I could possibly compare it to. I love my 7 but desperate times mean deperate measures the guy had to sell his car and did what any performance freak would do upgraded something else to fill the void untill hes in a better situation in which im sure hell try to get another rx7. This whole "Honda" haters thing is so gay, but then again without haters we would never have anyone to make look bad.

that is an excellent post, it seems you understand my situation, i bought this honda for very cheap when the motor in the rx7 blew, and i knew at the time i couldnt come up with the monet to fix it, so i sold it, i wanted to buy another but driving around in a very slow honda was so boring, so i swapped the motor, now its quite a bit faster, does over 2 seconds better in the 1/4 mile than it did stock, one day i know ill buy another FD, i loved that car, and anytime i think about it or see others it makes me want another even more, i didnt post this thread saying looko at my honda its so fast and better than any rx7, so i dont know why there is so much hate, but its whatever, thanks to the people who understand the situation, fd owner or not, i did own one so we're alike in some way.
i still have my 88 crx with a gsr in it with a little bit of juice and i love it as my daily. Still have my rxy ne way but i dont know why so many people rag on honda's. its just they are slow in stock form. Just like anything else you have to build it. my cousin has a k20 in his 89 civic and its the best and fastest daily driver that i can think of with all of its power available all the time.
oh yeah, another thing... if your engine blew in your 7, what a perfect chance to upgrade, rebuild your 7. And what is so unique about civics, nothing comes more unique than having rotary power. You had a classic bro, your loss... i would like to shake the guy's hand who bought your RX7...
u guys wanna see something really funny?? call this a ricer, this will spank any
RX-7 regardless.

i own both, civic and RX-7, there both great cars. stop flaming him, he didnt have the $$, so he did what was best for him.. Civics are still kick *** man.. this video proves it.
ENVY THE VTEC LITTLE ROTORHEADS!!

All i see is another glass connon, cookie cutter, dime a dozen, same boreing ***, no individuality, grocery getting, FWD no traction haveing, sled, with the same ET as a RWD RX-7 with half the HP.
Now that being said, I would love to own a honda as an everyday driver. I meen come on, Hondas are great cars FOR WHAT THEY WERE MENT TO BE.
^^ word thats why i dont drive a honda, i get pissed when im not having to fix my car lol. Im being serious, if i dont do somthing to the car on the weekends i go through withdrawls, if i had a honda i would be freaking out all the time because i would be driving a slow ugly car that is reliable as hell and gets great mileage, i just cant handle that. So ill take my rwd rough riding 54chp piston powered starlet over a honda any day.
Come on how are you going to state that you sold an rx7 for a honda on an rx-7 forum, its expected that you would get ragged on about it since most everyone on here is very passionate towards their 7. Even I can agree that it is a serious downgrade. But it sounds like you made out with money on top. It would be just like me going to the vette forums saying I sold my 07 vette for an rx-7, although thats probably what I would do anyway, they would definetly give me hell over it. Since to them we probably look like the civics do to us.
I look at it this way when it comes to hondas in a performance involved aspect you have two types of people. Those "the honda haters" who are closed minded that hate on hondas because of their common place and perception of the ricers who have given the car a bad image, obviously they never built a honda or integra motor otherwise they wouldn't be on here hating on them and could actually give a **** about those who make the car look bad, and those who are true performance enthusiasts that can look at the performance potential as whole as well as those who have built them, like myself :-P .
I used to be on the same boat as the haters until one day I put aside my pride and finally realized how much I was missing out on the interesting and actually fun way honda and acura built these cars through friends of mine and researching the subject years ago. See the japanese are great at turning an idea and perfecting it into something great. They took an american idea and modernized it see the idea of grocery getters with options for bigger and better performance is nothing new, Dodge used to build grocery getters with options like installing hemi motors in them with all sorts of cars as did many other car makers, imo honda perfected this idea with their platform. And they are still continuing to do it with the newer generation civics and rsx with the k20 plattform, its great idea that many car makers are realizing the potential nissan for example. So the grocery getter bash isn't really an insult.
I agree that there are those mainly immature teenagers past and present who have given a bad image too not only honda/ integra but to the import scene as a whole. But I can also say its just as bad when an rx-7 owners come on here with just as much class as those riced out civic owners.
I have a fully built ls-vtec crx built only by these very hands that I type with, right here in my drive way normally aspirated and does about 12 seconds in 1/4 and keeps up with and surpases newer corvettes in autocross events as well as 1/4. I also have a beautiful rx-7 also built inside 13brew and all by these hands runs great and plans are to make easily make 500+ horsepower after break in this spring. A 240sx sr20det makes 456 whp on pump gas and the list goes on... God its great to live at home with my parents, lol..... I wish
Sure you can brag on oh how the rwd beat fwd in 1/4 what not, because of fwd traction issues its true. Its like it has been said before money makes things go fast. It's pretty good to know that for about $4000 total I made my crx go fast. And damn my rx-7 looks good.

Ya know what?...I was safe and secure in my little 7 world, where hondas are the spawn of satan, hell bent on destroying the faithful with there...(V-TAC JUST KICKED IN YOOOOOO!), super power.
Leave my bubble alone.
yea, i was gonna say the same thing... it sounded like it was actually pretty quick... then after 2 shifts i saw the trees in the background... and it looked like maybe 50 mph... maybe...
Wow, way to go. Why dont you move down to Carson, CA with all the other ****** ricers around here....i hate hondas with a passion and thus...you make me angry...
On a happier note, i make like mid to high 14's on a blown motor in a 91 n/a, shoulda kept the 7... lolol

sorry guys i know i'm not the cream of the crop as far as rx7 owners are concerned i've only owned one for a half a year. In all honestly a civic is a great car not in the same class as my RX7 but nonetheless a great little reliable toy. We all know the RX7 is far from that. I can respect all makes and models of any car in the tuner industry. Automatically labeling a civic as a "ricer car" is stupid and it makes you look gay. To be a respected member of the import tuner industry you have to have respect for every car. Yes, "souping" up a civic has been done to death but there's a reason behind that it's because it's easily affordable and anyone can do it i'm sure most of us started off with a civic i know i have an i never regretted it and i would go back to it but not for the price of my rx7. Waiting for a civic to blow up is the stupidest thing i've ever heard because they don't blow up. I bet he could hold it to the redline all day and still drive it to work the next morning. Honda = Reliable but stay away from forced induction cause that's the RX7's department. I'll i'm trying to say is don't undermind or bad mouth people it's just as bad as being a "car racist". =) ONE MORE THING DON'T RAG ON VTECH cause every manufacturer uses variable valve timing but none as agressive as Honda so thumbs up to them

Honda's just a car...
The Rx7 is something far more then that...
That being said it's also the drivers not the cars that are "TEH GAY" if you will. Good luck man I know I will need to get something soon to but I'm buying a 1k civic as a DD to get me from school an what ever. Hell I'm going to put an intake, plugs, wires and probably short throw and strut bar on but thats about it.
