WTF IS A VTAC ???? ROTARY OWNAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
get ur facts straight, it was 826hp.. at 39 psi.. =/ if u cant watch a video and remember the statistics.. then u shouldnt be really talking.. no offense.

dont hate honda's b/c everyone has one, there great cars, great gas mileage, and yea, u can turn them into a race car.. and they're a lot cheaper to turn into a race car, than a rx-7... so therefore, a civic would be better.. and thats why u see most of them on the road.. instead of rx-7's... civics are daily drivers.. thats why u see so many, where are most of the rx-7's?? in junkyards... why?? b/c people try to beef em up, and wreck em, or they blow the engine, and cant afford to replace it.. so therefore, civics are cheaper to keep maintance, and modify, therefore, civics are very popular.

exhaust for a civic - 140
exhaust for a rx-7 - 300 - 500

see the difference, i hope u see it.

and the guy in the stillway video may be estimating the time.. just like if some1 has.. 460hp, he say's he has 500hp.. =/

cft's civic, garuntee would smoke stillway's rx-7

Wrong again

Yes I agree Civics no scratch that. Honda in general are great cars hell I own ONE. Well it belongs to my fiance. I personally own three rx7's which are awesome cars.
But price wise.
SHOP.
Local shop Camas, WA
rx7 140 exhaust from header
civic 180 exhaust from header.
You can find awesome deals but shopping is the best way. But I also use my fiance's accord to answer the great call of delivering pizza's when my friend who owns the local pizza place her delivery driver quits. so I fill the void with the accord at 22 mpg with a h22 works great. even whipping around the corners to get the customer that pizza

everyone who hates on hondas with the exuse "because its a honda" or "it still looks like a pice of crap" is a moron. somebody taking a car that wasn't high performance oriented to begin with and turning it into a 826 hp monster is a feat in itself. it probably cost a ton less than it would to make another car up to the same hp. the reason is because civics are popular, and hondas are generally easy to modify without the hassle of maintenance. is this a reason to hate on them? no. is it bitterness because it's a super common car that is faster than your car and cost a fraction of what it would to make your car equally as fast? maybe.

i'm sick of hearing people come up with lame excuses all the time about why a car isn't to their liking. if you have a problem with a car, then fine, as long as you have a legitimate reason. if you're a true car enthusiast, then I personally believe that you should view all cars (regardless of brand) with a non-biased view. hyundai is announcing plans for the next generation tiburon with 300 hp, RWD, and possibly a turbo. that is ******* amazing. when i ask people if they're excited, you know what response I get? "who cares, it's a ******* hyundai". what kind of ignorant comment is that? it's a hater band-wagon attitude that really just shows how much of true car enthusiast you are. I personally never liked hyundais due to their early efforts lacking quality and power, but I admit I'm impressed with the increase in quality in their cars. this new tiburon is something we should all be excited about as car enthusiasts because it is literally what sportcar fans have been asking for. but of course, half of the people here will immediately look down on it simply because "its a hyundai". i'm not saying it will be the great super car hyundai wants it to be, but until I sit in it and drive it around to see how much it does suck/perform well, I will be happy that there are car companies out there putting forth an effort to satisfy the sportscar crowd. if it does suck when i sit in one, then yes, i can truly say then it does suck "because its a hyundai that wasn't designed right".

so what difference does it make when you call out a honda just because it's a civic? or hondas in general? honda has always been a company that has specialized in naturally aspirated performance, focusing on four cylinders for maximum horsepower while sacrificing torque. they produce some of the best handling FWD cars on the planet. while it might not be your cup of tea considering we're all rotary heads who want that TT with RWD, i for one still applaud them for their efforts. I think it's amazing they're able to extract that much power out of such little displacement without the aid of forced induction. if someone here chooses to take that to the next level by turboing the hell out of it for 826 BHP, then that's amazing. civic or not. i don't care if this is an rx-7 forum, we're all car enthusiasts here and i really think bashing other cars for reasons like "it's a grocery getter" is just asinine.

that was about 10-100 in about 9 seconds, thats not bad at all. im not saying that civics are better than rx7's i loved my rx7, but it came time to sell it, i'd have to say my civic is probably faster on the street than the rx7 was, rx7 had turbo back, power fc and other small things on about 12psi, and the civic is also great in the twisties, the rx7 would run a better 1/4 buts that rxd with wide tires and lots more torque.

That's a pretty good sounding 5th gen. Is it a hatch, 2 door, or 4 door? I don't believe it was ever said, though I only skimmed the thread.

dude are you born that stupid ... im talking about the 650hp RX7 that does 9 sec on street tires not that gay red civic that does 10.1 with 800+hp with tires that looks like Mikey's .
try the FD with the T51R at 30psi with only drag radials and youll see a low 8's car.

in the first 20 seconds of the video the guys clearly specifies that theres a 800hp SILVIA and a 650hp RX7 that the camera is mounted on, and says it again around 1:00. and i would trust 1000000x more Stillway who are known worlwide, then any shop that builts civics.

WHO CARES ITS A FREAKIN CIVIC ,

before owning my 1st BP rx7 in 2004, i had a 240sx/rb25det dynoed at only 374rwhp and 356lbs-tq and i ran 11.7 sec @ 125mph with street yokohama advan es100 225/50/15 in the back. clocked a top speed of 296 kmh.
any T2 with minimal mods with 260-290hp can easily goes over over 260kmh,
where does the 800hp civic tops out at ?? 270 kmh.

so for a sunday driven and "fun to drive around on a nice sunny day" car the 7 takes it home too.

my point is 4 cylinders (FWD) should be used on a daily driven basis or showcar with basic performance (suspension, brakes) . not a race car, dragster.

im telling this and i own a 1996 Integra with 295 000km since 2001 and everything is still stock even after 6 years, because i know its a waste of time and money to invest in this.

Why would Sillway have to lie about their HP ratings, LMAO, these guys are known worlwide, and compete against a lot of highly known shops over in japan.
i would trust more what they are telling AND doing then any shop that builts civics.

hm, if i recall, they JUST got a civic into the 9's. while the RWD cars have been going.....................................3 second passes? that sounds right............civic running 10's, woooopie doo. a supra that is mildly tuned can run 10's. call me when a fwd hits the mid 7's.............ill be waiting, and building my touge monster in the meantime.
amazing how any rwd that has high horsepower is still understandable and driveable on the streets............versus a 10 second fwd car, no way thats going ANYWHERE ona public road
trading a 7 for a civic. just hang up your keys, you fail at life.

peace

hey dont hate on the man. i used to own a 98 prelude its a great car but i wanted a real track/performance car so the rx7 was my choice. sure cant beat the honda reliability but i was willing to sacrifice that for the elite agility the 7 offered. clearly the op was willing to give agility up for reliability while still keeping the power. also he wasnt really aiming for uniqueness like most of us were. he just belongs to a different crowd now; one that doesnt really strive to be the most unique or better turning but he's happy bc he's not a pro race car driver nor does he aspire to be one so he doesnt fail at life. he's happy for him self why cant we? different strokes for different folks!

civics are okay they are great dd cars because of gas a reliability but when it comes to modding them its a pointless uphill battle, your driving a FWD car your never going to get traction unless you got some massive drag slicks up front. I mean that 800+ on that civic well thats a nice number ya but its not the number that counts its getting the power to the ground that does. Your never going to get power to the ground with a fwd car unless you spend way more on it than any mortal man should. Plus 99% of civics are just stupid ricers hence why i hate on them so much, they are fwd and i hate fwd cant stand the way they handle and hook, but if was to ever need another car and have it be a dd i would probably drive a slightly modded civic that was kinda fast and if anyone ever talked **** on me out comes the starlet and the rotary =]

But i give credit where credit is due and that guy made some bitchin numbers with that civic, but just cause its 800+hp doesnt mean its actually going to go anywhere

i agree that i down graded, but in my situation i didnt have much of a choice, i hope one day i can get another fd, but to the poster about the check engine light, it was for knock sensor and egr valve, two things that i didnt wire up when i did the swap, i am now running a different computer that doesnt read those so no CEL.

Having a civic as a daily runner is cool...but trading an FD for a civic? Is this for real?
