Seems like Android as a OS doesn't leave a lot of bottle necks on the table. I like the kick starter if it is needed, or even just a preorder for dongles and people that pre order get to help test, either way. But with pre orders there would probably need to be a date to aim for at least.

I have it for S5 n/a and without the output of the smog pump going into the exhaust I was seeing AFR's of 10.6 at WOT and high rpms. Leaning that out to 12.4 and adding a few degrees of timing makes it not feel like it falls on its face at 6300.

Very excited for this! Is there an estimate for when the finalized product will be released? Are we talking months or are we talking Q2/Q3 of 2013 (or further)?

 

For some reason this disappeared off my thread sub's! i just came to check and so much more talk than last i checked.

the kickstarter idea isn't bad. but i think a preorder would be good too. then you'd have your $ to start making them in quantity if that's what you're needing. I'd just mainly be interested in getting the testing started & start being able to use it and give feedback! i'm trying to sell my Dell Streak to get a nexus so can be all ready to go. Re Sub'd to the thread so i'm in the loop for updates! cant wait. Every day i touch that stupid palm i want to vomit on it

 

Hopefully this happens soon. Its getting harder to find computers to use to update and backup the palm. I would be down to for a kickstarter.

Does this mean the beta software, dongle and Andorid based phone are needed to hook this up and start tuning or do we still need to send our ECU's in to have the dongle wired in to the board?

looks to me like serial to bt. my rx8 obd2 is serial then has bt adapter

 

pretty cool, ill deffinitly switch to this when it becomes available

 

If you already have rtek - its just an adapter i believe. however if your ECU isn't Modded yet you'd need to send off to have the board put on it for connecting a palm (or soon android to it)

Thanks linux that confirms it. I didn't see it on the site but instead of using palm can it be wired to a laptop serial port and be tuned that way?

 

you'd have to use a palm emulatior. I've seen it done but you're still limited to the little screen of a palm emulator on a laptop just because the software is only for palm right now. that's why they're working on android. (and I'm super effing excited)

 

I'm thinking about upgrading to 2.1 and this thread excites me! I'd totally be down for throwing some money at you.

 

It's really exciting because i think not just I was thinking that rtek was on the way out since the Dated interface (Palm). I'm super stoked about finally using a tablet. Although now i need to get another one (probably nexus or nExus 2 whatever they come out with next) because i sold my Dell Streak finally. hopefully i'll have some more toys on the T2 by that time! I still get all giddy when i get an instant notification

 

I'm sure! I just made the tentative decision to upgrade to 2.1 today (necessary since I'm running rather lean) and then I discovered this thread and my heart lept! I have an acceptable android phone and an HP Touchpad with ICS installed on it, so I'm totally down for this massive upgrade. I will need to acquire a Palm when I upgrade though

just got my TII started for the first time after doing a large street port, RC 750cc injectord primary and secondary, and a stage 2 BnR turbo. The Rftek7 2.1 is awesome! but I hate using the palm! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE ANDROID APP!!!!
