A little confused..

I am currently looking into getting a Rtek 1.5 as my 88 Turbo is currently still 100% stock.
My plans are to start with some simple bolt ons.. Exhaust, intake, etc..
Now is there a safe boost to run with the stock injectors with this chip? If so what is it? I have already ported my waste gate and might get an electronic boost controller. I'm hoping to run between 7-10lbs, will this be possible with stock injectors and Rtek ECU fuel map or is this to dangerous? Also will i feel a noticeable amount of power with these simple mods?

Is the 1.5 even worth it or should i step right up and look into the 1.7 or 2.0? I don't know much about tuning so i would like to start off with something fairly simple and then later on upgrade.

For balling on a budget, get 1.7 and 720 secondaries. If you can swing it, go 2.0 and 720 secondaries. Be sure to upgrade your fuel pump as well.

when u upgrade the exhaust and intake, your boost will rise to prob 10 psi. that is all you should run with the 1.5. also if you end up staying with the 1.5, get a safc2 and a wideband if you can. the wideband should be one of the first things you buy when you decide to run ANY more power/boost than stock, period.

the higher in version you go, the more boost u can run safely (with some tuning of course). obviously i would recommend the 2.0 because of the features it has and the future updates coming. ive been at where your at and i know how it is when your on a budget. like i said earlier, if the 1.5 is all you can do for now, just bolt on the exhaust and intake and you'll be perfect until u want to upgrade from there.

I ran 10psi with a complete RB turboback on my stock ecu for about 3 years. The whole car was stock except the exhaust and a Fuel cut defender. The fuel system for the s4 turbo can just barely handle it. HOWEVER you will need to run some sort of fuel controler to adjust it. I ran a SAFC with the stock ECU and it was fine. So if you want to raise your boost, you will need to get an AFC or the like to control fuel with the 1.5. The 1.7(8) gives you some safty by allowing more fuel with the 720s, but again you will still need a controler.

My advice is to get the 2.0 (or 2.1 hopefully soon) it won't be all that much more than the 1.5 or1.7 when you add in the cost of the AFC. You will already be that much better off, once you install the 2.0. You can tune your car to run better right now, which will give you a bit more power, and you will be set to make all the upgrades you plan on doing in the future.

It depends on how much air your setup can flow, not boost. If you had stock exhaust/intake/porting, you could run 10psi on stock fuel with no problems.

As soon as you upgrade exhaust, your stock fuel system will not flow enough to keep up. I would not run more than stock boost with no fuel upgrades.. save your money and wait for the 2.1

well we were talking about a stock tII, thats why i was talking boost instead of flow rate. i didn't want to confuse him, lol.
