Testing the waters with a sprint RE and 4 2000cc injectors and IGN-1A smart coils. Starting out with an FC CAS and eventually the FFE trigger, or do you recommend getting that now as well?

If your asking me about the difference between FFE and FC CAS. There are lots of big power guys running the stock CAS. They work and work good. I just wanted something that was just a bit more accurate. I'm always pulling my motor apart and the ease of getting the timing lined up is a snap with the FFE wheel.

Found one thing about the stock CAS. The voltage settings are very important. If they are off just a bit you'll have issues. Haltech got them close but a small adjustment is required. Easy but with heat things change.

FFE, once installed it's good to go.

Well the setup I just got is the Mag Sensor since the Hall Effect sensor is not supported with the Sprint RE, At least I will be able to rule out gear lash at the CAS gear. Simplifies my install as well since I dont need to go crazy shielding and routing the CAS wires back to the ECU. I can just run it down the front cover and to the passenger side frame rail.

I run every one of them up over the engine for a cleaner, shorter run. There is probably not enough length in the harness to run it all the way across and down the rail anyway.

A good lot of the previous generation Haltech trigger issues have been resolved with the Platinum line. Improved hardware and firmware makes for highly reliable triggering, unlike the old E-series boxes.

When using the FFE wheel, in the drop down menu for trigger, select RX8. and also go direct fire.

BTW, I found out that the E&J Throttle body uses a 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0 TPS. Just wanted to share that as I have seen a few threads asking the question.

Just a note on the stock turboII cas. Last three cars with one. 13b P1000 no issues, starting cold or hot.
20b P2000, start cold was fine but once hot it would not start. Adjusted voltage in the trigger settings and things are good now.
20b P2000, NO start or RPM. Rechecked wiring and all is good. Going to put the O-scope on it and see what's going on.

With the 6 or 8 with the FFE wheel, No issues and no voltage adjustments needed to start cold or hot. Just install and go. Two where with the mag sensor.

Thanks Chuck.

BTW, I decided to top off the build with a GT45 1.05 A/R. I figured the only chock point was the GT3576 so now it is all a complimentary setup. Now assembly begins...

Last time I saw it he finished all the fuel lines and was working on wiring. It's definitely come a long way. I'm impress with the quality of the build.

I have most of the harness for the Adaptronic built. Running through a cannon plug on the firewall. I also cleaned all the wiring out of the engine bay. This week we will take care of the 3.5" charge pipe and weld up the blow off valves.

Last week we added a 5" v band clamp to the throttle body. Looking at the only dent on the car caused by a backfire and a wing nut made me change my mind about trusting a bolt to hold back 40psi.

Little update, waiting on -16AN lines and fittings for the cooling system and we are installing the 8.50sec cage early January, we have also decided to install a nice Jerico 4 speed Dogbox. So now I gotta make that money for the twin disk!

Back to work I go!
