Before doing anything to the trans he needs to stop spinning. Once he hooks up, then it will be easier to shift.

Thanks for thie tips Judge Ito. I think the next step will have to be a wider tire at lower pressure. The tires right now are M/T 26x8. I was also experiencing some right side wheel hop on the burnout. I'll try the eibachs on the rear as they have a stiffer spring rate.

Here is another view...

Today I installed a gilmer drive belt to take care of the belt slippage, and ordered 1/2" Heim joints to build the lower links to adjust pinion angle. Tomorrow its off with the rubber bushings on the upper links.

I think that will be it for this weekend.

SOrry for the delay but the Army has me kind of busy lately. Everything hs been installed and beefed up. Trans is behaving better with help from Judge Ito and we finally got it on the dyno before I deploy next month.

Here is the run, The car made 160 @ 10K with perfectly linear output, so we took it to 11,200 and saw that it made 180 with no signs of dropping off. Now it's time to work intake and exhaust to bring the "curve" into the useable range.

send comments of suggestions please as I don't have much time left.

It is a 2.25" to 3" with an open dump right under the seat, Open header. Or do you mean the porting?

Get rid of the 2.25" section. That definitely isn't helping.

I am still surprised the car only makes 180hp though.

Temporary turbo blow through

Left lane, 1st pass before it grenaded 2nd gear on the next burnout. Good starting point.

Car is running 12psi on a hybrid S5 turbo.

AFR was 12.1 crossed the line in 4th gear @ 10,100RPM

I speced it out and there is no way these guys put the right gear in this diff when I ordered it. I asked for 5.13:1 but It is more like a 7.00:1

Pop the cover off and count the teeth on the ring gear and pinion. Then you'll know for sure. But the last time i checked,. 6.3 is the lowest ratio they make for the 8.8 and it takes modification.

Planning on going back to all motor? What's the car weigh race ready?

Sticking with Turbo for now, the N/A thing was so frustrating I just needed a break. This thing is my personal test mule so I will just build it so it is certified to run 10s and we can just swap setups around in there as we see the need for testing.

Next setup is GT35, 50mm WG, just need a better fuel pump for this carbed setup since the Holley Blue maxes out at 17-19psi. I need something that will hit at least 32 to keep up with the larger turbo.

Race weight is 2250, 3/4 tank of gas, with me in it.

Setup is complete with the above mentioned stuff. Just waiting on a better fuel pump and gears now. Gears should be sorted by next week. So far it runs very well at 10psi, this is spring pressure for the 50mm WG I am using.

WA

Gears installed, Turbo installed, recieved Aeromotive A1000, Waiting for fuel Cell, Filter and -10 AN Filter Feed and Fuel Cell hardware. Roll bar is going in in the next couple of weeks. Not sure If I should just clear coat the metal or paint metallic black.

Here is a pic my son shot up at Lloyd's meet in Carnation, WA this weekend. It will be on the track next month for sure...

BTW is that much dark smoke normal on launch, the car left no tire marks but a heavy fuel streak!

I will be working on installing the fuel system this week, 12 Gallon fuel cell, -10 AN fed 100 micron filter, A1000 fuel pump, down to -8 AN hardline, 4309 low pressure regulator (will swap in Aeromotive HP with fuel injection later) and return is 1/2" hardline.

Smoke under load is dark gray, can it be too rich or is that premix?

Dyno baseline before going fuel injection

Car made 288hp and 225 tq @ 6800 RPM.

On the first run we stopped because the 02 sensor was not picking up AFR, I still had another 2000RPM to go. As linear as the graph was it would have gone over 300. Aborted the second run at 6K because oil started spraying out from the oil pedestal sandwich plate!

It does look like fuel smoke , mine blows twice as much though haha , what were your temps like when that pic was taken , as mine made a massive difference when it was fully warm , compared to fired up and idling for a short time .
The dyno runs sound like they would have been the expected result for that boost level and setup , shame about the little dramas but best it was found on the dyno and not at a event !
