Sk8world's build thread..
I agree on the missed aligned holes. This is exactly what messed me up. But I think You can drill it but what I would do is use a dummy front iron. Drill the front holes out then use that as your guide for every plate and housing.
The best way (i think) if you still want to drill you should use a carbide mill (flat bottom) instead. And a carbide reamer to finish it.
Wow, old motor finally let go. That was some serious power...... made me feel like I was driving a yugo when your FD pulled away from mine! Hope the new build goes well. Hope Family is doing good. Holla
Het Chad! All good down here. Yeah motor cracked a front plate at 700hp. So if this next motor last half as long I will be thrilled. Last motor was low quality but was bullet proof. Now I am trying to build this one with quality parts. My luck it will break on the dyno!

Much more than a motor build. Balanced, clearenced, studded, new ecu, all new wiring, new ignition set up, new fuel system, that being said I could have finished it long ago if all the custom parts were quicker to get.
Yes. Everything is good to go. Got manifold in last night so I will assemble motor this week and start making some progress. From the beginning my goal on this build was tii skip the hot summer weather and tune and race this fall.
I don't want to say you're screwed but... It is almost impossible to "center" the drill bit on an existing hole using a standard drill press and expect accuracy. How did you determine the center? Because those drill presses have excessive amounts of deflection in them, you may be off one way on one hole and off the opposite way on another hole. That equates to the binding. You need to have them cnc'd or center bored and tapped on a "manual" milling machine. I worry about the longevity of your engine if they are binding at all.

Yeah, I definitely learned something this time around. I have assembled this motor a couple times and their is zero binding on the studs now.
