Sintered iron disk in the FD?
For some reason IIRC it won’t work in the pull style (factory FD) clutch? Is this true or am I making up memories?
As much as I love dropping the tranny, the scattershield, makes it a more painful to get it done quick. And since the re-Pucking i just had done, slips like crazy on a speed shift, its either get another real ACT disk, or upgrade...Figure if I’m going in there again lets do it right-er lol

Custom ACT.
Ended up just buying one of Ari's disk's. You can get one made but they are almost $500 for the disk. I looked at the ram and spoke to them. Reason I decided to go ACT was disk thickness. Now you can shim the RAM until you get it right but I would rather pay the $350 differance than pull the tranny a few times trying to get the shims right.
BTW ACT is a great company! AAA+ for them!
I have sent back a few disk's that they no charged repucked for me and my last combo (Extreme plate and 6 puck disk) they replaced with new items when the disk failed. Grant it it failed pretty quick but I just think the rpms hitting off the line over comes the ratings of the clamp load. I dont blame there product being bad. I will continue to support them 100%!

Hold tight and let me go pull my tranny out to measure ...
It's the same as oem specs. The ram is thicker and might need to be shimmed to dissengage 100%. Wouldn't be very hard. I have heard of guys buying thicker disks, shim them and as the disk wears remove shims.
My goal is to go a year without touching a tranny.

When i talked to ACT he told me street disks are .315 said he thinks race disks are a bit thinner, and to replace the disks when they hit .270
Since the ACT is a custom order, and the ram is less than half price.......... in theory would need a .065 shim which is a easy buy from Mcmaster, and placed on all the pins and under each clutch bolt should give me "correct positioning"
Is the ACT sintered a on/off deal? or is ther a bit of slip off the line?
the guy on the phone sounded scaared of them, like it was the harshish thing imaginable lol
He also told me pressure plates loose 200LBS of spring clampening in the first year, and that may be my culprit. but b4 i buy a pressure plate I might aswell change over to a T2 bellhousing, and then have the option of the XX prseeure plate, but then ill have to buy another scatter shield, exct.....
My new plan is to spend money once, eventually ill inact this plan lol

Its pretty damn hard on. There is a quick funny noise like a squeaky belt when I first engage it but its REAL quick. The shim deal should work fine but I was like you and ready to spend $$ to be done with the clutch deal. I spent a good bit of time researching differant setups. I was offered a partial sponsor ship from SPEC were I could have bought a mini setup for almost 50% off.
I talk with Ari Yallon pretty often end we discussed all the units and decided a sintered disk made more since and he ran 9.2's on it and lasted him over a year of racing. I like proven set ups, done being a test dummy. I leave that to guys with deep pockets!

Act=500$ disk, made to order so 2 week lead time..
I went with new flywheel this season, and new pp, so I just got a new RAM disk to complete the deal, nothing wrong with my old one, just figured I'm spending enough what's another 200 just to keep my mind free and clear...
Ram=220$ at your door
RAM disk is .380, stock is .315, I added a .062 shim this go arround, on my well broken in PP I didn't use any shim and take up was at stock level... If you read enough about how the mcloud and other shimmed clutches are set up and shimmed its really not hard to figure out what you need, and since I only shim under the bolts, changing shims can be done via the inspection window without dropping the tranny... But since its all new math and visual setup of the disk are a easy first crack at it
Btw love the sintered disk.... It's badass

Bacon made more passes than me so the ram also seems to be holding well. Can't wait to hit the track, might just try it on my **** box, won't shift for crap! But at least I can see some mph.

What specs did you need to give RAM when ordering the disc?
Also what pressure plate are you using with it?

Is it stock syncro tranny? I can tell you that I wouldnt and haven't even bothered going to the track with my stock tranny in. Won't shift for crap with an iron disk. You have to wait for the rpm's to drop way back down. Also mr. 45 on here had the same issues and went back to the six puck.
