Yeah it's pretty rare to have a flywheel come off. Most of the problems come with the clutch and pressure plates.

I never shift past 8500 and still use a scatter shield. Mine bolts to the bellhousing and is a little harder to install a tranny with it since you have very little space between the shield and they tranny but I think it's well worth it even if not shifting at a high RPM.

Alright, I just got my scattershield today. I'm not overwhelmed with the quality but it looks like it will work. I'm going to have to re-inforce the weld joints, especially the one's on the passenger side as you can see. I also am going to paint it black. What do you guys think? I've seen alot worse that's for sure. hehe

Well, so much for the idea of pulling my driveshaft down and slidinig this scattershield up and into place. My pinche trans tunnel is too narrow and it ain't going to happen. Going to have to remove the trans to get this turd in place.

I'm just going to make a cardboard scattershield and paint it black- the techs never check it anyway, they just look at it real quick. Besides my flywheel is in front of my firewall and in front of my feet so no worries there. Who cares if a spectator gets his head severed- it's all part of the risk you take when coming to watch. Totally kidding.

That one that I bought had many problems. I had to do alot of modifications to make the sheild fit. I called the shop and told them what they needed to do so hopefully they fixed the problems.
