PA Questions on scattershield install/FC chassis

I am gonna go to the track soon to test my setup/car and the last time that i went i was told that my car has the potential 2 run low 11 second passes(it didnt happen at the time)and that i should look into scattershields.I did get a one piece scattershield and i am getting ready to install it but lately my back is been hurting 2 much and i dont want 2 take the trans out.
I was thinking if it is possible 2 take the driveshaft/tranny crossmember and shifter assembly and slide the shield on and be done with it.Is a fc3s chassis with a REW mounted using stock second gen mounts but lowered a extra 3/4 of a inch for extra hood clearance.Do you guys think that is possible, have any of you guys done it.Any ideas?thanks.

Maybe. I've put a couple Goopy shields on and it's a PITA. Always worth a try. You have to take that stuff loose to get the trans out any way. I got one on an FD without taking the trans down. But it was a 2-piece deal. The other we had the engine and trans out of the car already and had to spend quite a bit of time making the shield fit. A couple bolt holes were off and we had to clearance some of it to get it to fit. No way I would of gotten it done in the car.

there are no nhra legal scatter shields for rotaries out at the moment.in was looking into this just a couple of weeks ago as i just got my RX-3 running.NHRA rule says the shield can be 2 piece 1/4 in thick, must go 1 in.in front of the flywheel, and 2 in.behind the pressure plate.cannot be mounted to the engine or transmission.must be mounted to the body or frame of vehicle.thinking about made sense,if the clutch blows the bellhousing apart the attachment points on the bellhousing are usless.so i am making one that has 3 attachment points and 2 piece so it will be easy to install or remove.
