lol, I'll never be afraid of a yota! I do have another question though. Who are going to be the drivers? Is it going to be something like the owner of the toyota that has had it for a long time and knows how to drive it against a guy that gets the fun task of driving our frankin7 not really knowing much about it or having much seat time? Just seeing where we are at here because this race is going to come down to the drivers.

But just in case this does happen I guess I'm going to be the spokes person for Toyota3tc.com when we contact Pinks. Who can I count on over here to back me up and call this a race?? I'm sure they're going to want details on the cars and all that. I'm not going to post much more about our car on our forum, but are going to shoot for a mid to low 10 second car keeping in mind that we need to keep the car legal and have a title and meet all track regulations to run. I.E. Cage, battery shutoff and crap like that. So that will take quite a bit of loot from our build.

 

Where do I sign?

If whomever builds the car is willing to ship it up to me (southern ontario Canada) I can do the paint work here at Classic Auto Body Inc.

Short of that I'll kick in some bucks...

Yes, I would leave it at that. All build specifics need to be kept private between both builders. Call it what you want but that's racing.

 

If people are serious about this. I suggest a little bit of organization. A list of people who are going to donate some money is great. But how about we figure out what car will be used, motor, and builder. When we figure all that out the builder should get a list of everything he needs to make it happen. That way people can start throwing the parts and the money his way he needs to make it happen.

I also dont think anybody is even going to start a project if the race is not going to be a for sure thing. If its all locked inn im sure there are a few people who want their companys name on the side of that car and plenty of other people who are willing to help with donations.

P.S. Its well known the 13B keeps the poontang on lockdown. They use the 3TC's for the Tug Boats in San Francisco harbor.

I don't care what we use, RE, S5, RX-3/4/7/8........really don't care. I just want to help kick some *** and make another wildly entertainign pinks episode, that of course contains a Wankel.

 

We should also try and get some of the sponsors on here to help in return for a sticker on the car, etc. Would be easy on everyone that way.

 

I'm all for donating 50 bucks or so to rx7club maybe more, gotta consult the funds. I say we keep it as cheap as possible with an fb, those shells can be had for almost nothing.

edit: so the list of things would be.

1) find out if this is really on with pinks

2) get someone (maybe mod or admin here) to post a big sticky in red at the top of rx7 club to let everyone know. setup a paypal for anyone that wants to contribute to a great cause

3) same person to notify all verndors to see if they would like to contribute somehow to the car in either parts or money (would prefer parts probably)

4) find out who wants to do the build

5) send all money and parts to central location (where build is being done)

6)find out who is going to do the driving.

Anything else?

oh I guess a completion date would be required as well.

Who's going to do the build? I'll chip in some bux (parts if I have anythign we need) and I'd do the full paint at my shop here if its feasible. Lets get this rolling.

Well has anybody even heard from pinks yet to confirm if we set somthing up it would happen?

 

Ryan Scott needs to get involved. If he would simply sticky an Announcement in every forum with the information and paypal information, the money wouldn't be an issue.

 

OK OK. First before any money it donated we need to.

1-Make sure that Pinks is down for a show.
2-Figure out who is going to build the car. (just because Chris has the skills he may not have the want or time to do it)
3-the people who are footing the bill need to decide on a combo before a dime is spent to save time and arguments.

I suggest a FB, gutted, 6pt cage, 13B carb, N2O, 9" ford. It's cheap and has the potential for a low 10 sec car. We need to be reasonable, all the talk of the 20Bs and turbos need to cease. We need to take into consideration that we might loose this car (not due to lack of power).
