Ok guys I got the Liberty installed. That was really fun on my back in my garage. LOL. It actually fits really good. I thought I might have to move my seat back(which I would have to remove my crossbar for the rollbar and make a new one) but I think the seat position will work. I will make some runs and see. Good news is that the trans. crossmember is almost in the exact same location as the TII trans. So I'll just have to make a new crossbar and that's it. I measured for the driveshaft and will be taking that in on Monday and then I have to make a new trans tunnel cover, which doesn't look easy considering all the shift rod linkage. Does anyone know of a good sheet metal fabricator in Southern California?

Here's a pic of the install

PS. Does anyone know the rules regarding the transmission tunnel? I have seen many cars that don't have anything over the transmission and others that are fully wrapped.

i think for the trans tunnel if the trans is open you need to have the fire wall and floor sealed completly. if not you need a tunnel covering everything but shifter.

Thanks, that is what I thought, but I guess I have to get a current NHRA rulebook to confirm.

Well, I put my new driveshaft in yesterday and it's too short.
Now I have to send it back and hopefully the dumbass will be able to read the fricken tape measure this time. That puts me back another week and next weekend I have plans with the family and the weekend after that I have to work, so maybe this April 23 is not so far away after all DAMMIT.

Sorry, I can't make that event Teddy, are you going to run your car?

Ok, so I took my car to RMS and had Rene make me a new crossmemeber and also made a mid engine support brace as well. I also got to take the new transmission for a quick spin down the street. This thing shifts like butter. Not very good for driving on the streets though. LOL
I'm in the proccess of covering the transmission with tin and then she'll be ready to hit the track again. I'm shooting for the first or second week in March to do some 1/8th mile test passes with the new trans. with the 12a. I'll also post some pictures of the braces that Rene did so you can see that, but give me a few because believe it or not the weather down here in SoCal is rainny.

Very cool.. Nice Starter.. Btw did you need to shim it out at all? I had to shim mine out with a washer.
I don't think i have any pics of my trans cover but it might actually work on your car.. I'll take pics of them and send them to you.. You'll just need to make some dzus holes in your floor and you'll be good to go.. It's also powder coated black...

Thanks Enzo, you helped me out alot. The bellhousing, scattershield, starter and modified throwout fork are top notch. So far the starter starts the car right up without any problems. Alot better than my old rx4 starter.

Those pictures of the tin will be very helpfull and if it looks like it will work on my car I will buy them from you. LMK

Spin that solenoid 180 degrees and swap your power wire to the top. I always hated that my starter wire was the lowest point under the car so it tried it and it works great! Tucks up nice under the floor!

I think I might have some, if not I'll try and take some pics. Basically there are two tabs that are welded to side of the frame/body and one long tab on the bottom of the scattershield( my scattershield is bolted to the bellhousing and to the block) And then there is the long bracket that bolts to the two side tabs and in the middle on the long tab that is welded to the bottom of the scattershield.

What do plan on running over on the dragstip? Oh wait, my car is not as low as yours.

Actually, that is a very good idea and thanks for the tip as the cable that hung down bothered me too. I wasn't aware that you could spin the solenoid without any mods? Oh, I see now after looking at the pic that the power cable that goes from the solenoid to the motor has enough slack in it that I can rotate it clockwise. Sweet.
