it all depends on the fuel applications I know many cars in the us that run alcohol methonal don't need them. However I've seen a lot of drag cars down unda with intercoolers

if your on anything but meth id say use one, but funny thing is a few guys still use one on meth,

there is no cooling benefit from leaded race gas , so you really do need one if using race gas or pump gas or e85 ,

From what I understand, you can run slightly less fuel with an intercooler on meth, because you aren't relying on as much of the fuel for cooling the charge. The decision comes down to space, weight and cost. A/W intercoolers are the best as far as efficiency, but they take up space, weigh and cost more vs. A/A intercoolers.

I think most of the big turbocharged V8 drag cars run A/W coolers...

so my plan is to go turbo... since i already have a turbo block in my car now its just been converted to n/a..

im going with the pro jay intake manifold ,also just picked up a used 3" inch thick spearco intercooler, very very nice intercooler, very well made..

the only problem will be fitting it.. i dont want it to be exposed.. if i could tuck it in nicely i will use it.. if not it will be up for sale ... thanks guys..

What type of fuel are you going to use pump gas e85? I have a question has any one tried a flexfuel setup?

When gm was building there E85 Pontiac Solstice D1 or race car they increased the compression ratio from the street car, which has a factory turbo. That article stated that turbo E85 cars make more power with the higher compression. They are happier. The exact oppsite of gas. I think in was in Super street this was maybe 5 years ago. E85 has a octane of about 100 I believe however you have to burn more to get the same power out of it. You could tune for it, however the E85 will eat older style fuel lines. you have to change your fuel lines and Injectors if they are not build to use E85. Also it will clean the hell out of the fuel system so you fuel filter will get dirty fast.
