I just want to know why the piston guys in drag race classes are allowed a lighter chassis and bigger turbo vs the rotary guys? Is it because the pistons can't compete with the rotary on an equal basis?

It looks like others have already done that. This one just jumped out at me. I mean come on, calling somebody on their mechanical prowess based off of syntax/grammar/punctuation etc., yet blatantly ignoring it yourself?? As far as I'm concerned, you could not know how to spell Mississippi. If you can build a kick *** engine, then so be it.
