Reading some of the replies in this thread makes feel ashamed to be apart of this forum.. No wonder we don't see guys like Chris, Allen, Anthony, etc...
Judge Ito, for a grown man you got no cover for your mouth.. Dude, do you know how stupid your "rants" make you sound? You have a business to run, so why portray this sort of illiterate behavior on a public forum. I learn that the hard way- If it wasn't for friends like Roan, Anthony and others that sat me down for a talk, I would of probably be a loud mouth like before.
Enzo, you don't need to explain anything to anyone.. You said you were going to set a new record, you came, you did it and now you're moving on to achieve the next goal. You're a drag racer and your car is just a tool to get the job done, regardless of engine type.. Any intelligent person who knew what you're trying to achieve with this new project, would tell you that you made the right choice by going with a piston motor because the Rotary just doesn't make sense, financially and logically. Plain and simple - The rotary will not be competitive against the other Outlaw cars, unless you have an unlimited budget.
You have 2 potential 6 second Mazda shop cars. A piston and a rotary so don't worry about what those haters got to say.
Ernie, I would of personally love to see you keep your car. Maybe turn it down a bit, install a stock tranny and go cruising on the weekend with your son. The next option is to sell it and get a GTR or Porsche. Honestly, that sounds like a better option
I don't think there's a bigger Rotary fanatic like myself on this planet... With that said, sometimes we just need to be a bit more open minded to other things and make our decisions based on logic. I'm in the market for a new daily driver - My heart is saying "new Rx8" but my mind is saying "Mazdaspeed 3 or BMW 3 series". While a Rx8 would be a SICK daily driver, it's just doesn't make logical sense to own a RWD car in my part of the country. I also take road trips every weekend, so the Rx8 might be a bit cramped up for us. My point is, besides by obvious love for the Rx8, there's nothing else working in it's favor. It simply would not work for me at this point.
Be more open minded people. We all have different goals, unfortunately the Rotary can't help us all.

I come here to check out the local drag community and see sweet cars. Not listen to you bitch and whine about whether or not Enzo is running pistons. You ought to thank him for removing some competition. All his efforts make you look like the amateur you sound like. And, it only took him about an eternity less time.

Enzo supports more rotories then you ever will be actually tuning probably a hundred rotories a year and keeping them alive and giving the proper advice to owners on how to maintain them. You think all this bitching you do is helping the rotary community ? You complain about the rotary community being small but you then have the nerve to stay if you dont have a rotary get off the forum ? Thats real welcoming to potential rotary owners let me tell you. Closed minded rotary owners like yourself are why the community is so small. I wont even bother bringing up Ito his reputation among the real racers speaks for itself.
I never saw Enzo bragging on the forum about putting a piston motor in his car once. He started a thread last year to tell everyone what his plans for the car were and that was it.. If anything you and the rest of the haters (not saying you are one Jay) bring it up much more often and every thread is polluted with piston hate and Enzos name is always brought up rather then him actually bragging.
Enzo is already a member to most of the piston forums you so politely say go to... and the difference between those forums and this is night and day and would never say go somewhere else your not welcome... maybe thats part of the reason the hondas have come so far that make you fear to be lined up against one

One of the nations best and most exclusive race engine builders (2000+hp) will only let Enzo tune his engines and this is when his clients have unlimited capital money being no object they just want results. No it sucks because of guys like you who just show up to leach off information from others that have spent the time and then complain on top of it all instead of contributing to this forum. How about posting a thread on your car and what you have planned for this year or next year. You have over 2000 posts but have no thread or contribution to the rotary community. Dude, you are so clueless it's not even funny. Another member that comes here just to talk smack. First off if Enzo and I raced he would destroy me as I run an all motor stock chassis setup and he runs pro turbo. That was the first thing that made you look like a dumbass. The second thing you said that made you look like a dumbass is that if looked not just 4 threads down you would see my thread and know that I am currently running a brand new 13b all motor setup. And the last thing that made you look like a dumbass if you had just read the page before this you would have read that I commend Enzo for his accomplishments and that the reason I was upset was that we lost a key rotary player. Now go back into your hole and roll into the fetal position you clown.

12a is cheap and is a piece of ****, look at a the piston motor that dee has in his car, it can run 1000hp at 40 psi for 2 long years and never break ask him how much $$$

That is one heck of a timeslip considering the chain of events leading up to the low 9 second pass.
Rotarys can bring a man to his knees or can lift him to the heavens! Its just the ups and downs that dictate the outcome of ones actions!
Congrats Ernie and good luck in your future project! I race both 2jz and Rotary and definatly there is more praying going on with the rotors! lol. But alot more gratification with a result stemming from the rotors success!
