Judge Ito was selling his G-Force transmission awhile ago, I looked into buying it................ but it was $9,000 used.

wow. Thats more than I want to spend on my weekend warrior. I and when I get serious about racing I can see going that route. So I contacted Redneck and they had no clue about rotary's or if the imput shaft would work. Basically said we can not help you in that area. ?? I thought these guys did a few? Or was it other turbo cars you were speaking of?

Redneck doesn't do the rotaries. They just sell built C4's.

Carribean sells the rotary C4 conversion kits.

Picked up a auto bellhousing finally.

Does it matter which C4 I use, a pan mounted dip stick or pump mounted dip stick?

I would use the case dip stick rather than pan due the fact that the pan style case is the large bellhousing ford style and you will run into clearences problem with the starter which you alerady have with the small bellhousing case one which you have to do some trimming but not mutch , check out the pics I posted on this thread its the case dip stick style.

Thanks a bunch. I'm going to have someone local build the converter. The bungs on your converter, could you possibly measure how tall those are?

Is there anymore information they gave you about the converter?..... or did they just say it's a 6500 Converter? Anything about the bearing design, balloon plate, hardened splines, stator or sprag assembly?

Have you weighed yours?

Thanks dude!

FYI, for anyone interested.

I've found a converter race shop that has recommended doing the following. Doing it this way would allow direct mounting to your stock flexplate.

I would send them my stock 13B Torque Converter.

They would use the front half of the stock 13B converter.

They would install C4 guts and put the *** end of a C4 converter on.

Alright, www.dirtydogperformance.com

I just talked to him again, he's going to mail me a C4 hub so I can take measurements. Then, I'll send him the stock RX7 Converter so that he can build me a custom unit. It's going to be a light weight 9 inch 6500 converter.

He said it will be $500. Not bad, huh

I'll make a new thread, showing how to re-drill the stock bellhousing ti fit with the C4 pump etc. etc.

9,000 bucks? Where did you get that figure?

I could shift if I wanted to, but I'd rather make back to back 9 sec passes with a beer in my right hand

I just don't see a lot of top rotaries using auto's and I think it's because the rotary has a low torque high power band and does not work well with auto's. You see most of the rotaries using auto's are sitting at the lights for like 5 seconds trying to get the boost up- race is over by then. hehe. You're also adding quite a bit of weight and rotating mass.

oh yeah, his gforce was expensive....... way out of my league

check out the aussie guys and the ricans, those guys have good luck with autos....... its all in the converter selection

what's a little rotating mass if you've got consistancy? refer to erniet

I am not sure if you are familiar with Lowe Performance , but anyways He runs a AT Tranny and is in the 7's . In my book is all in having the right combo it's going to take alot of time to find out the right tire size along with the right gears to meet with your engine power band . I have yet to see anyone put a car together to run a specific time and done it the first time out , I take alot of effort and changes . I have been to quite alot of events and seen alot of highend $ car with High $ tranny's and still have hard time getting to shift and miss gears .
