If thats your car in the aviator pic I want to see more! Was the c4 a kit (carribean) or do-it-yourself?

for sk8world

this transmission is out of the mazdatrix first gen drag car.this trans had been sitting around for a long time with out being used.i bought the transmission put it in the car.the transmission was slipping bad.i removed the transmission ripped it apart, found the clutches were all coming apart.i replaced the clutches, forward clutch drum, input shaft and a few other small parts that were all wore out(you just got to love used ****).this transmission came from performance automatic.it is there super comp with a trans brake, low first gear2.92 low second gear1.61.this transmission is about $2.500 new from performance automatic.it has a Neal chance bolt together torque converter that stalls at 5500.this converter is about $ 2.000.it came with a reactor flex plate sfi approved.when i bolted the bellhousing to the transmission pump i noticed the OD of the pump was about .090 smaller then the ID of the Mazda automatic transmission bellhousing.being that i work for caterpillar we have a big machine shop.i had our machinist sleeve the ID of the bellhousing for the proper fit around the transmission pump. this was what i had to do to make the transmission work.after all that feeling the trans brake kick you in the *** with a 1.44 60 foot time was all worth it.i figured out the ignition problem i had last week end so this Saturday at California speedway in fontana my 60 foots should go 1.30's and way deep into the 10's at 17 pounds of boost.here are some pictures of the car

Talking sk8world almost sold it

i had broke the transmission in the car last November driving it back from the BOTI event at California speedway.it had a Mazda automatic transmission in it. i had broke the engine twice.i was at the end of this car.i had put it up for sale on Craig's list here in so cal.i had also put it up for sale in Florida.i had a guy from Florida call me several times. we had tried to work out a deal.he just wanted the roller.i wanted to sell the complete car.after getting over my "f" that car i had come to my senses.i have never given up on anything i have started and never will.just needed so time to cool down.this is when i bought the C4 transmission.i think this weekend at the track is going to make it all worth it.it is running the best it ever has.i hope to get kicked off the track real soon for going to fast 9.99.this would be a good day.

I here ya.. I lost a motor last year and parked the car for several months trying to decide what I wanted to do. I bought a Porsche and was thinking of selling the 7.. The Porsche ended up being a let down power wise and I decided to build my own motor. Still trying to dial it in but glad I keep it also.. Best of luck to you on the 9 secong slip.
