hahahaha... it's great to see these debates on the forum....
First, I'd like to apologize, I don't get on here as much as I should and don't contribute as much as I can.
I also want to thank Anthony for staying on top of the list and keeping it up to date. I also want to thank whoever made the banner, it looks awesome!!!! (especially the left corner!!) ...haha
As for my best ET, I'd like to clear some things up. I ran 9.62 (houston IDRC) in march of 2000 and 9.58 (maple grove, PA IDRC) in aug 2000 on ET street and a mazda box using mazda gears.
In 2001 NHRA and IDRC changed the class to run radials and I never ran faster than a 10.1
In 2003 I ran my best pass on a g force trans (9.05@155) but had an unusually bad 60'. My calculations showed that it would have run in the 8.8X range with a good 60. I only ran the trans in one event that year and didn't care much to improve the time.
In 2005 I ran 9.27 and 9.30 at the same event at nopi on a mazda FD trans. I ran a few other low-mid nines that year but was trying to slow the car down hoping to keep the trans together better and avoid class rule changes.
I also believe that Karl Martin ran 9.5X in Palmdale at IDRC a few years ago with a mazda trans and dog gears on ET street tires. He had a problem with that gear set and never ran it again. His best ET on mazda gears was in the 9.7-9.8 range. I'll get in touch with him and find out.
As far as I can recall, Steve ran in the low 10's but never hit a 9. I think that next time he gets out to the track he'll get his 9. He's been working on his car slowly, whenever he has time.
I hope this helps to clear up some stuff and I hope I don't get too beat up for it...
Just kidding...

hey ari....whats up,and yes he has mid to low 9 seconds with stock tranny...i know so because i let him use one of my stock FD tranny so he can continue racing in a race event....with spiders and dirt from my back yard remember ari....lol.
They spent hours replacing the stock tranny so they can continue racing on race day......all those night hours and some good food to stay awake makes good ET #s .

Sorry man, if you convert your time and estimate a 1/4 mile, what would you run?
Updated...
Updated yours too.
Our first bump! Speed_NYC and Blitz are off the list. (I still have your info in there, just hidden)

AnthonyNYC is doing a fantastic job on this list.. He is taking it a step further and providing some funny "update" emails. His latest Email is simply epic, but I'll leave up to him or the "bumpie" to eleborate on this email

i'm in a very calm and peacefull place. retirement has lifted all the stress and pressure to compete from my shoulders. nothing can bother be in this rx-7 game anymore. but i tell you this, if i decide to take my throne back i wont be walking softly anymore, but i'm gonna be swinging a goddamn tree trunk!
so in closing, Anthony i beg you... give me a reason to dust the car off and schedule a comeback tour.
and you have my permission to quote this in your little sewing circle e-mail list...
