No fuel on decel untill ~1500 rom is reached. Its better then "throwing lots of fuel on decel", the cooling system is still working with no heat load.

Since heat is a function of how much power is being made, why would having an engine wind down on it's own with little or no fuel going to it and hence not making any power need combustion temps to be cooled down? It's not making much heat (relatively speaking) at that point.

Almost understood what you mean but not quite... All I know is a have a carburated motor and fuel is always going thru even during decel. (I think) lol

why not just water inject the motor and not worry:P

alot easier then trying to get fuel going on decel\ and will drop temps

i've never done, or heard of anyone doing any extensive testing on how long you'd have to decel "dry" before you killed someting.

on my old bridgeport, i used an s4 front cover with 2 of the omp lines still attached, other 2 blocked off. i used the decel fuel cut and premixed on that one, but just the "idle" position with the 2 lines gave it enough oil to not hurt anything on decel.

on the current fd motor, i just kept leaning it out until the wideband didn't register anymore ~20someodd:1. i use 1 oz/gal these days. is it enough? errrruhhhh, i hope so
