There's a handful of guys on here who have done the V8->RX-7 swap. Be careful, as whenever you mention it on this board, it seems everyone loves to jump in a cut your head off and bash you. Big time flaming.
There's some guys on the board with 305s, 350s, 302s, not sure what else.

Dodge had the 383, not Chevy.

a 383 Chevy is a 350 block, bored .030" over, with a 400 crank.

Damn near bulletproof reliability.

My friend is building a 383 for his 87 FC, supposed to have 550-600bhp when it's done He kind of went a little crazy with his engine He bought a lot of stuff from grannies and almost none of fit. Had to tweek the engine cradle, the PS bracket was drilled wrong for the pump mount, the bracket to hold the stock slave cylinder was totaly wrong (damn near just threw that in the trash), but the one thing they did get right is the trans mount. Wich leads me to my next question, what trans are you going to run? I hope to god it's going to be a O/D. My friend has a th350 in his right now and it's hell with the stock rear gears. With his old 350 (with a flat lobe on the cam) it would get up to 70 in no time but it was pretty much pointless because he would have to cruise around at 50mph so the sucker wouldent rev to 4k while cruising. It's going to be funny when he takes it back to the drag strip this summer, I bet he's going to be awsome in the 1/8th but he's going to run out of rpm's by 2/3 track in the 1/4.
