Street ports

Ok I am knee deep in my rebuild and I just got the front housing exhaust port opened up, problem is the rotary bits I got from Ace hardware didn't last to long (as if I should be surprised) So I will have to pick up some carbide tipped bits. Anyone know of a good source fpor them? I was just gonna do sears.com but can anyone think of anything else? Also I was curious how many of you do your own porting and what kind of experiences you had doing so? Any thing that maybe you would like me to steer clear of that you think maybe I don't know? I always like to hear other peoples advice. Oh lastly what about the Atkins 2 piece 2mm apex seals? Anyone use these?

Porting is quite satisfying the only concerns are the dangers associated (bits in your eyes!).

On the tools, I have a set of bits that have done quite a few engines, when you are doing the Aluminium, use allot of carby cleaner to stop the bits from cloging up, the only thing that will realy wear them out is the rotor housing surface and sleeve's.

Take your time and remember to be carefull !

I found that the higher the air pressure to the die grinder the better. I started with 80 psi and ended up at 120 which cuts like butter. I also used some cutting tool wax from a machine shop. Good luck.

How bad will my boost creep be on my stock twins with the exhaust ports opened up? What would you suggest to controll the creep? Restrictor pill/valve in the vac line? Any suggestions or thoughts?
