Cat back or high-flow

I've got some extra money and was trying to decide whether to spend it on a cat-back or a high-flow cat for my FD. I really want to keep the noise levels as close to stock as possible and I heard that a high-flow cat may produce quite a bit more noise than the stock cat (although not as much as a midpipe). And the RB dual seems like a good quiet choice for exhaust. Regardless, I don't want ANY highway drone. I had an exhaust on my 2nd gen a few years ago that drove me crazy on trips!

However, I was considering getting a high-flow cat because my stock cat heat shield is rattling and rather than try to re-weld it I might just replace the whole thing. Is there any difference in noise level between the different brands of high-flows?

Performance-wise, does one or the other upgrade produce more power? I've already got a DP and really noticed the difference with that mod.
