Socket for B10EGV plugs?????

Hey guys, I've got a set of B10egv's I was to try and need to know what socket to use??? I know there is some out there that will fit.

Maxcooper I saw a post from like 6-7 months ago where you found one. If you read this let me know what it was if you can remember.

Thanks guys, I need to get my car going today

Racing Beat sells one as does Mazdatrix, but they cost about $40-70. I just bought a $2 socket from a local parts store and had a local machine shop turn it down to fit for about $12. Just measure the bore on the housing and addabout 50 mil to it.

Yea, but i dont really have time for all that. Seems like i heard there is a socket for a chainsaw plug or someting that works. I know I've heard of a plug you can get off the shelf that works fine.

I guess if no one reading knows I'll throw some 9's in untill I can have my regular socket turned down.

Thanks anyway,
STEPHEN

Stephen just fab one ... and save yourself the time of trying to find one! Putting in on the lathe and turning it down will take 2 seconds.

Nic the problem is that B10EGV race plug has a shorter tip. It seats into the motor farther and there is a lip on the rotor housing that keeps you from getting the plug and socket all the way tight. When you turn down the socket it will clear the lip. The other option is when you have the motor out of the car to take that lip off of the rotor housing.

Yea, thats what I'm going to do I just was hoping someone knew what something that could be purchased cause I didnt have time to go out to Brians shop and do it (its a 40minute drive one way).

Carson - What plugs are you using? Do you run the B10egv's?

very small gap .020 you'll actually have to bend then down as they come with a .024 gap

bought them from sparkplugs.com for I think $5.10 each!!!

So far I really like them but they have only been in for a day. They do seem much smoother but maybe thats jut cause my 9's were sooooo nasty. The 9's were prob smooth back in the day as well but I cant remember.

For $20 they are definatly for a try!!! I bought the 10's and a set of 9's (only $7 each) just incase the 10's foul to easy with me running rich.

Later,
STEPHEN
