If you aren't running any cats (using a midpipe), then it's fine. Otherwise, you'll eventually clog your cat which will kill your boost.

As far as a HP gain? Going with a pulley kit to eliminate the Air Pump will probably give you an addition 15-20 HP (not rwhp).

It doesn't even take that much HP to turn an A/C compressor, why do you think it takes 15-20hp to turn an air pump? The difference is more like 1-2hp at the very most.

The underdrive pulley kits (as I said above, pulley kit) underdrive the engine driven accessories to free up HP for the engine.

I didn't say simply unplugging the air pump would release any HP.

I still doubt a 15-20hp gain even if you removed the belt entirely (no accessories at all).

Even the cheapest pulley kits that retain the air pump "claim" at least a 10 HP increase.

TKT POWER PULLEY KIT
This simple effective design under drives engine-driven accessories by 25%, improving their reliability while releasing about 10 more HP for work propelling the car. CNC machined from billet aluminum and triple black anodized. Complete with new belts, grade 8 fasteners and easy to follow instructions. Installs in about 30 minutes with basic hand tools.
I would imagine some of the better pulley kits could release a little more power but I'm sure it all depends on the car.

That's all most of us can go on unless we all have these parts and dyno's in our garages to test each and every one of them....

GReddy claims 350-400 RWHP on pump gas with their TD06 turbo kit. I guess because they "claim", that's not exceptable so it doesn't REALLY give that much....
