Funny you should say that. British MG's use them! It is actually a very good carb but tuning isn't the most friendly since there are literally hundreds of different fuel needles. Hurley in England uses them on rotaries.
Victoria British in Kansas City sells rebuild kits for them. They deal with RX-7's (mostly older ones), MG's and Sprite's. Not sure on pricing though but I know they'll have it.

I will try to help here.
The picture gives me the impression that they are HIF series carbs. They came on '72 and later cars. Mostly MG, Triumph, and some other Brit cars.
Series 8 carbs were 2"
Series 6 were 1 3/4"
Series 4 were 1 1/2"
and so on.
If you want to use SU carbs, I would suggest the HS model. They are much more plentiful, common, and are easier to work on. The Hitachi carbs on the early Datsun Z cars were copies of the SU HS6 and work very well.
I have the Hitachi carbs on the 240Z and 260Z, HD8 carbs on the AH 3000, and HS4 carbs on the MG's. I have rebuilt most all of them and find it not difficult.
Hope this helps.

Very interesting!
Thank you MikeLMR for the information. I wasn't aware that the HIF carbs were that much better than the HS. I will hang on to the ones I have and see if I can put them to better use in the future.
I'm always happy to learn something new in the hobby! Now I must figure how to adapt them to the Z cars.

Hi all, whatever happened to maggie jaffe: Did the f.b.i. Kill her yet? Why would a rolling stones band groupie write f.b.i. Correspondence? The poetry books the prisons and circle of fire are j. Edgar hoover quality? Recipie card cross-dresser; not for me!!!
