I have sent the seals back to the guy in California so he can forward them on for inspection.
Not too sure which batch I got but I had them lob up here in around February.I fitted the seals & had all the problems the week before the Sydney Jamboree which was on the 27th & 28th March this year.

i would almost bet that the reason the car ran so good was...with the seal having too much clearance its allowing the "cylinder pressure" to actually push the seal up against the housing in return good compresion when there is fire in the hole but shitty when its just cranking over. Greg

I would totall agree with that having run them...I would add that I think being a little on the thin side, they lean to one side and seal up in a diagonal fashion..
Whats funny is every seal wore a different amount, even in the same rotor... Mine were sunken in the centre somewhat, but not quite to the degree as RXENG had his sink, towards the end of me running them, I could here the motor changing pitch as it started, you could here some rotor faces not quite sealing, but as it fired and rpm picked up, it would fire on all the faces, probably as lethal said, the seal loading against the wall, and the seal being pressred diagonally in the seal slot, forcing a seal at the edges and straigheted out the seal enough to form a seal..
There was a video of I think Black FD's car in Vosko's video archive, and you can here the same changing pitch of when it starts, probably one or two faces have poor low speed sealing, you can also here the lope come and go, with a low speed miss, the lope in my partial bridge was 99.9% steady all the time.. Everyone should listen to it carefully and see what you think..max

Hope Vosko doesn't mind..

Its worth the download just to look at this car, its pretty fine to look at.. Also thats what my car would start like when hot , till the point it would almost not start.. Once it was running though it was ok...I never got a straight answer from this guy, but I am pretty sure its got RA seals in it..I would like to know what this car sounds like now and what the compression on it is at this point in its engine life, mileage etc..

Here is my half bridge with Mazda 2mm 2 piece, this was taken seconds after the motor was started for the first time, with out any tuning done for the partial BP from the old streetport..

Mostly my wife/business manager Laura.

But seriously, we'd be happy to answer questions about our products but internal business organization questions are not on the table.

Keep up the good work! An "air" ported 13B six port engine is going into my homebuilt airplane some day.

Back to ra seal questions? So far the 2 seal that when wrong with RA seal are basically trying to abuse that heck out of the engine. So for daily driving and a hard run once in awhile, how much mileage could you mustard out of RA seal? I'm interested in buy some if it could hold up like advertised.

Thanks!

Interesting... I have that same goal in mind as soon as I finish my AME training and buy a house with a suitable garage. A rotary-powered RV7 with RWS redrive would be nice, but I'm leaning toward a (more affordable but plans-built) Vision. Which plane do you intend to build?

A vision, of course. It is a perfect plane for 225 hp.

The topic on thread is about RA Seals and I was curious if anybody have bad experience with this seal. I'm thinking about getting this seal but I want to know if it holds up like it claimed?

Most likely they do, people like RXeng and myself are not abusing the **** out of them, I am very careful with the tuning, and since RXeng is dealing with customers cars in competitions, I wouldn't call what he does abusing them, merely our output goals are alot higher than yours, but its not abuse...
As Tracy has said they have purged the inventory of that batch that were questionable, order a set measure all the specs out before install, put 'em in and run them, if you later have a problem, let us know... Really the data on them is just starting to come in, but there are people it seems with more mileage on the later ones with no problems, when I bought mine, I think they were the first sets out the door, as I remember the message on the website changed sometime during shipment of my order... If they don't measure out when you get them, send em back and go with another seal..
Really for the price, you ain't got much to lose giving them a try...Max

225 hp? You'll definitely need the extended wing for the higher req'd gross weight. BTW, the plans call for one laminate in the wing tanks but use three to prevent leaks. Dave Cress had to open both wing skins and redo his. Check out his site located in the Vision website.

That's what this whole thread is about. Some posted thier positive experiences, and others their negative experience. I took exception to the following comment you made "So far the 2 seal that when wrong with RA seal are basically trying to abuse that heck out of the engine." You may not know who Max is but Jon has been doing this for a long time and to even suggest either one of them is "abusing" their motors is retarded.

I suggest you go back and read this whole thread again, you'll find the answer to your question, you didnt need to ask it in the first place
