please reccomend engine builder in the USA

Hello everyone!

I am ready to buy engine long block from 93-95 rx7 fd3s.
I need just block w/o supplementary devices.

I will use this engine at drag racing with single big turbo.

I am looking for 600rwhp power level and going to run it with up to 2 bar of boost.

If possible I would like to go with big street porting to keep reliability.
Of course 3mm apex seals to give me chance to make few mistakes at the tuning stage.
Btw, what do you think about "rotaryaviation" apex seals, are they really so well like they advertized?

Shipping is to NJ.

Please advice who can make this for me!

Thanks!

Im my opinion I wouldnt go anywhere but to demetrios at reactive racing. He may take a while, a month or so, but the work will be top notch, and done right. Hes fairly priced and a straight forward guy with no bullshit, my motor will be back here tommorrow from him and even though I wanted it asap, the month I waited will be well worth it for the motor he built me.

If you want it fast don't go to KDR. My car has been there since early June. People say they are quality but take their time.

They have a very good reputation, I have taken one of our FD's there and they took care of me. It was just for minor work and compression test. I know Don Marvel (spelling ??) has a good reputation as an engine builder. Steve Kan at Gotham in Fort Worth is the best tuner around. I now use gotham racing for all of my RX's. 4 in all.

I've had a good experience with Jeff McCall from Rotary Performance in Cali. He is one of the older guys who use to drag race his rotary back in the day.

I had my first engine done from him when I lived in LA. Small shop, nice guy.

But for what you are asking I would find someone willing to ship a motor out to you and warranty it. There just has been too many recent horror stories going around.

I'm not sure if RP in dallas ships there block out or prefers only in house stuff.

Gotham will ship.

Pineapple will also, but they had a little problem with some of there engines recently.

KDR? But you might want to ask SleepR1 about that.

It was more of a figure of speach I have just heard they are very good, never had any experience with them. Here is a post about them from another member from the 3rd gen section.

People have come from all over the US to get their engines built by him... Ari from Rotary Performance (rx7.com) recommends this shop for rebuilds.

They do 3mm apex seals, porting, turbos, you name it... prices are dependant on what you want done. He gave me the impressiong that it's anywhere from $2K on up.... he's built 1000hp racing motors, and he's done simple rebuilds with all stock parts - so prices can really vary.

If shipping it to NJ, I would recomend:
Jim at JPR (not an internet *famous* place, but has built some impressive cars. phone is 856-227-1808) screen name= SlimJim
Dee from Reactive Racing, www.Reactiveracing.com screen name = rotor_dee
Judge Ito of JR's rotary performance. (Sorry Ito, I forget your number) screen name= Judge_Ito
All 3 are great and all in NJ. (Dee isnt directly in NJ, but is often at JPR's shop, or just up here hanging out and I am sure he could pick it up) JPR is right outside of Philadelphia, and Ito is way up north.

Just curious as to why the motor will be shipped to NJ if you are asking where to have the motor built in the USA? would a family member here in the states be then shipping from NJ to the final location? I am confused on that one....

I need to come work with you, Ito. I'm barely getting enough in to survive at the moment and I don't understand why...
