More pics to come when I run this line and all fittings this week.

That's not the only way to sump a tank genius. You can do it with the existing tank just as well. I actually have a summit weld on sump with two bungs sitting here. I can't use it.Why? Becauuse my pump would be sitting 2 inches off the ground in order to keep the inlet hole from the pump atleast parallel or lower than the tank feed bung.

Well I guess they could if they really wanted to. They could also sit on my wing too but that hasn't happened yet.

Not sure, might just be that the car is sitting crooked. The car is still sitting on the lift and the lift is a bit higher on one side than the other when all the way down....

vosko is right what you have done is drill a hole and weld a fitting onto your tank, that is NOT a sump. i have my tank done like that right now because of clearance issues, but i will be putting in a sump in the next 2 weeks because of fuel delivery problems.

install the sump, its not worth blowing your motor over. just put the pump on the side of the tank somewhere

I know several 1200 rwhp cars running fuel this way with no problem so I'm not worried.

i did mine the *right* way, and so far i am not having clearence issues. (keep fingers crossed) but it does worry me sometimes. after looking at it when it was done, it doesnt seem to sit any lower than the exhaust really... i also did what Roan said, i mounted the pump off the side of the tank.
btw... those pics are HUGE!!

Tell me this....... Where does all this fuel go under acceleration? Where is my bung welded in? On the bottom/back of the tank at an angle. Since the fuel pump is gravity fed, I had to mount it atleast parallel or lower than the feed line out of the fuel tank.

Everyone go's to the track sees all these fast cars with full sumps hanging down from the back of their cars and think that's the way to do it. It's not actually. I'll be plenty fine with my setup and keeping 1/4 tank of gas in it and up................eh forgetaboutit!

my point was that you put in a sump so you don't have fuel delivery problems during turning and accelerating or doing donuts. you can't even tell i have a sump on my car.

Since when is turning and donuts invloved in drag racing?

You can turn and do donuts all day long with the stock top feed pump without problems. Only time I had fuel problems was when my needle was below "E" and that was pulling a 1.7 60 foot.

The stock tank isn't a real flat shallow tank like most others.

I don't care if you can see the sump on your car or not. Clearance was my problems expecially with how the road conditions are around here and I have a steep driveway so backing out would be a problem. I've already fitted the full sump up like I said and in order to keep the pump inline with the bung then my pump would be way too low.

That is the C-West rear end. When I ordered the whole kit way back in the day they sent me that old *** rear bumper instead of the N1 bumper. I didn't feel like fighting with them about it so I just kept it.

The yellow car is a Lamborghini Jalpa. We are doing a Twin Turbo Job on it right now and yes he was in Gumball 3000.
