More affordable Rotary Engine power.

For most of the forum members that have read my posts, they know I'm a nitrous oxide and rotary engine freak. I like N2o because it makes it affordable for your average Joe to go racing and run a fast number and be very consistent with E.T.s Here I have a new customer running his 1971 Datsun 1200 model with a bridgeport engine and some N2o. This car use to run 11 seconds with n20 before he became my customer. After I build a new engine and a different Nitrous oxide system the car ran a best time so far of 9.69@135mph. Jay recorded one elimination round in the piston vs rotor class event we had last sunday. Im going to try and post the video run here. Vosko if by any chance it doesn't come out right, could you host the video for me later? Back to N2o like I said I just think is a way to make some rotary engine affordable horse power. enjoy the vid.

wow - thanks for that Judge, that was darn nice. What is the induction on it and what kind of transmission - Gforce, Lenco? It sounded nice through the (clutchless) shifts.

Out of curiousity, what can it run without the bottle?

Buzz I knew you would enjoy that. This car is using a holley 650cfm carb. G-Force clutchless tranny. Without the bottle and tuned for N/A power it should run 11.00 to 10.90

gee you do like your holley carbs! Someone ought to buy you a decent 55mm ida style throttle body and a Microtech for Christmas. (or a "guru" quad tb set up if you've been really good.)

What kind of N20 system do you set up for a car like that? I have a pp12a and i am kinda considering going with some N20 but i am just not really knowledgable about it. That car is really cool, I am sure he is very happy with his set up.

oooh 650 holley and N2O for 9s?

and like someone else asked, what kind of setup do you run for the N2O? and actually also what kind of induction setup is the holley (manifold etc) as this is a very similar setup to what I want to run in mt ported rotary powered mazda 1300 sedan.

On this car I used a NOS 4 fogger Kit but I only used 2 foggers and tapped them on the intake manifold. If your really serious in using nitrous for your 12A you could pM me and Ill walk you step by step. Like I said, it's really a nice way to make some affordable power..and yes the owner of that Datsun is really happy. Car is so reliable he almost won the piston vs rotor class..

Holley carb on a Racing Beat intake manifold. N2o on a fogger set up. Atkins Rotary 2mm (clearanced) apex seals. This 13B powered Datsun should run 9.25 to 9.30 by the time Im done tunning @140mph. not bad on a $600.oo NOS kit. I mean the car has a good tranny good clutch, good rear end etc, etc. but the rotary power is being made on a 600.oo nos kit..

What kind of setup would you recommend for my 12A with a Weber 45DCOE? I'm going to pull the engine down fairly soon and put a street port on it. $600 for a nitrous kit vs. the money it would cost me to do a blowthrough turbo setup, the nitrous sure is looking good right about now.

Plus purging it is just so cool

A nice 2 fogger set up. Two fuel lines with a dual Mallory fuel pump deal, or one high flow fuel pump(like a Barry Grant 440 model pump) then use a Y and split the fuel delivery for your webber and one for your fuel silenoid. Your going to need two fuel pressure regulators with fuel pressure gauges. Holley pr work great. Yes the purge is kool on a compact car.. I would love to see more people use nitrous on rotaries.

I assume a similar setup would be suitable for a 12A, 79 intake, Yaw carb?

i am planning a 13B BP for my r100. i was on my way to do the turboII running on my rx2 but i just sold it to get some money for my r100. (motor and rx2 both gone) i will be using a holley 650 DP w/ mech seconaries. Judge, how much nitirous should i use? probobly wont use it at first, but i do have a holley plate for it sitting around...maybe i should consider it.

Yes the type of nitrous set up I use is a wet system using foggers(direct port style) this way, the foggers are located directly to the intake manifold. Leaving your yaw carb in place.

You know how the cookie crumbles. You can't have too many proyects unless your flowing money like Bill Gates . If your going to build a nitrous engine I would suggest to use a nice 150hp to begin with on the Atkins seals.
