Testing is still being done. I was "expecting" fairly substantial apex seal damage on the FIRST power pull - did not happen.
We have not had a lot of time available to "play" with this experiment -- have been more occupied with getting the E/Production car ready for the "SCCA Valvoline Run-Offs.
So, first easy answer: Yes, the RX8 rotors WILL run in an "earlier" 13B engine with peripheral exhaust ports.
Second question/answer: How LONG will they run? - Don't know yet.

Thats going to be a great upgrade for us NA guys, Thank you so much for undergoing the expence of testing it out so we dont have too.
Also, since its allready on a dyno, about how much HP did just the rotor swap pick up?

?? There is no "2nd" side seal --
We are NOT using the 3rd oil control ring (called a "blowby scraper"). It is only needed on the real side port Renesis motor. Btw, that ring is just like a large, HEAVY, piston ring - meaning solid, with a split, and you have to "squeeze" it to set it in its groove.
There are no HP numbers to publish yet -- there are too many other variables -- meaning we have NOT done "back-to-back" testing where the ONLY change was the rotors (intake AND exhaust porting have been different with the engine we put them in).
Power gain?, if any, I do NOT expect to be substantial. -- We are looking more at them as a viable alternate rotor: cheaper at this time than any others, lighter than any other OEM rotor, AND higher compression.

Its good to hear its getting to the point were testing of the new rotors on pre-rx-8 rotaries is coming along. I think the main point is to get higher compression for a 6port engine and lighter weight rotors is nice. However this probably means, a new balanced assembly for a 6port engine then....
