Arrow Which M/T are better?

I noticed in Summit's catalog that they show two different types of tires for Mickey Thompson. The first one is the Mickey Thompson ET Drag Slicks and the other one is Mickey Thompson ET Drag Performance in a D.O.T. approved tire. Which one should I get? I never plan on using these tires on the street, just at the track. Which one is better than the other one?

Thanks,

The ET Drags are a better tire. The problem is, I don't think they make the 26/10.5/16 size anymore and that's what fits well on our stock rims. The ET streets have grooves in them and the compound is a little different. Honestly I don't think you will be able to slip either tire off the line if they are heated up properly. Most people are using the 26/11/16 ET streets since the 16 inch ET drags aren't available anymore.

they dont make the ET drags in 16inch anymore. if you dont want to switch to a 15inch wheel, just get the ET streets, basically the same tire but with 3 groves in them.

ET Streets hook a fuckload harder than 555Rs. ad from what i understand the Hoosiers are an even better tire, though ive got no experience myself with em. a friend of mine with a low 11 sec camaro uses the hoosiers and seems to like em.

the 555R is much more a true daily driveable street tire though. ET Streets etc are just "DOT legal...........legal, but not exacty an every day tire. damn sure not when you catch rain". if you want somethingmore streetable but better than a 555R, i know lots of people seem to love the BFG DR.

Jay,
Get the MT ET streets. They are what I have. You also can use them in NIRA events unlike the full slick. I cut 1.59 60' times with the ET streets. Just don't make the mistake of driving them on public roads. They may say "street", but they are far from streetable.
