Lightweight FD

I was just curious what the lightest FD's are?

Ernie, Do you know how much Demetrious car weighs?

I just read that PFS had their weight down to 2680.

For you guys that weighed your cars, what were the results.

I hope there are some FDs weighing less than 2680!

Anthony

there seems to be a lot of discrepancies in weight between cars even without any lightening. could you guys share whether you've got a base, touring, or r1/2 model.

mine weighed in at 2400lbs. when i last put her on the scale. When she's finished......i'm guessing her weight to be around mid 2500's.

Most of the suspension has been replaced with chrome-moly along with the engine cradle and many more misc. parts. I have the CF rear hatch,CF hood......no a/c or p/s. Nothing under the dash......you get the picture. It's light without cutting anything up.

I have a 95 PEP (think touring without the Bose) which weighed in at 2708 on SCCA scales (autocross) with full interior, heavy wheels and 1/2 tank of gas. I did have quite a few mods such as downpipe, cat back, IC, etc...which helped. I estimate that my rims weight 5lbs. more each than stock wheels. The tires probably added an additional 5lbs. per tire too due to their larger size. I've since modded the car and removed things like the stock, heavy main cat, shock/spring assembly (replaced with lightweight coil-overs) etc...I expect to weigh in at about 2680 or so with 1/2 tank of gas, full interior. I have two racing seats with lightweight brackets which would cut another 24lbs out of the car. I know Nick's car at N-Tech was also very light (a 94 touring). Now that it's completely gutted, you can practically lift it with two hands :-)

I also have a 95 PEP and according to the scales at a nhra drag strip my car weighed in at 2713. My car had a full Pettit exhaust, intake, and underdrive pulley. I dont remember how much fuel but I usually get to the track with 1/4 tank or so. Anyway other than those mods listed my car was show room stock right down to the spare tire. I even had a bunch of crap in the rear bins, including a air compressor in the back.

I guess that doesnt help you but I thought I'd throw it in for comparison to some of the other cars listed.
