It's worth getting. Check out RETed's site:
http://fc3s-pro.com/TECH/HOWTO/CDI/cdi.html
You shouldn't need anything else.

Exactly where are these wires in the engine compartment? i can tell the colors of the wires coming from the MSD box, but i cannot find the other wires. this may be because they are painted black. the previous owner spray painted the engine bay walls and coated most of the wires at the same time. also, the wires coming from the msd box are spliced down to wiring harnesses, are there matching harnesses somewhere in the engine compartment? or would they have to be installed as well?

If you're going to put one on the leading coil pull off the little black cover and you'll see the positive and negative wires with ring terminals screwed onto the coil.

Would a 6A be worth putting on a TII? I have one on my FB and it didn't make too much of a difference, but it does only have about 140 at the flywheel max. If it'd help my TII, I'll put the first gen back stock

I want to add 2 on the trailing, but 3 times $150 is more than 1 times $150.

You'd need two more for the trailing, as it uses two seperate coils.

You could try the HKS twin power ignition box. It's small and does both leading and trailing, but it's expensive, about $450.

Ignition solutions has a 3-channel solution.

One box for 3 coils.
