Who's going to know or care? The engines were the same throughout the model run of the car, there's no engine number to tie with a chassis number, etc. AFAIK, swapping in an older motor into a newer car is always illegal but there is no way to tell in this case anyway.

And it's spelled legal.

its fine..... why would it matter? 94 engines are the same as 93 and they are registered in the US. however...(just an example) technically its illegal to swap a sr20det into a 240sx because they arent registed engines in america, but its not like its really stops anyone anyways. its fine man. like rynberg said...no one would ever know, not even a some rotary shop if they tore it apart cause its the same thing. in some places out west cops pull over 240s to check for sr20dets and they can tell the difference cause they have pictures to identify it because the ka24 looks completely different. its not the case for the rew.....so dont worry about it.

I believe that the engine was left unchanged throughout the run, so it would be entirely legal. There'd be no legal distinction between a '93 and a '94 and a '95 - all accepted as being the same and interchangeable.

i would think it would just be the same as swapping parts out a parts car, everyhing would be identical, it'd be a straight bolt in. it's not like you modifying your engine bay or anything
