good quality autometer gauges

im gonna buy some gauges and was wondering how the autometers are grouped in terms of good quality and bad quality - except the nexus.

i was planning either the cobalt or the ultralite.

They're good, especially the Phantoms.

According to one of their sales reps, they do have different standards for Quality assurance for the different lines of Gauges. This was like 3 yrs ago, so i don't know if they have changed their form of operations.

I don't remember where the other gauges fall, and I am not up on the newer gauges. I suggest checking with an Auto Meter representative.

The top-end Auto Meter boost gauges work just fine IF you read the instructions. My friends and I have been using the Auto Meter Ultra-Lite mechanical boost gauges for many years with no problems.

What is wrong with the Auto Meter EGT gauges other than the 1600F limit?

Hi fastrotaries, I use an SPI air intake temperature gauge. I like the gauge layout itself, but I don't like the way it is lit from the back. Either my gauge is messed up, or I did something wrong on it, because it's only lighting up half of the white-facing on the gauge. It looks as if it's casting a shadow over the bottom half where the gauge's mechanical and electrical parts are. Does that make sense?

Yep. There's a reason why the Sport-Comp gauge is so cheap.

How do you define or determine what is accurate?
