check your PM.. I have owned 2 FC and love them!.. they are just like any other cars out there. If you treat them nice and not abuse them they will last and will not break on you. PM me your # so i can call you...Jeff

It's worth it if you don't pay too much and are REALLY **** when you're inspecting it...

Otherwise there are so many things that can be wrong, missing, or broken on a 20 year-old car it's not even funny.

Especially when you buy a car that doesn't run...

I'd at least look for missing paint and rust under the car before you decide to buy it, even from a friend.

i'm just messin with you... I believe all older beat up cars are going to have there share of problems. When it comes to buying used cars you just need to know what to look for to reduce the risk of buying a turd...

it is probably not wise to ask an RX7 forum if an RX7 is "worth it"... because we all believe it is "worth it"... now, if the car is running on one rotor and smoking out the tailpipe then it might not be worth it, but then again would you buy a piston powered car that miss fired on a couple holes and smoked out the tail pipe?

You could *easily* make a FC fast as hell.

The problem is the easiest ways arent really approved of by the purists here

(hint, its called a v8 swap)

Or skip the PITA of a swap and just buy an LS1 Camaro for $8,000

PITA of a swap? Its BOLT IN.

And why would you want to spend more overal, and have a heavier car that doesnt handle or brake as good as a FC does with some coilovers and the stock 4pot brakes with good pads?

Exactly.

Buy the car if you want too. I initially bought my first fc for $900CAD with a rebuilt motor on a rusty s5 body.. I was attracted at first site. Youll find most FC owners are the same.. Im currently doing a turbo swap. Itll be worth every penny. Everyday i had my N/a in the summer i couldnt wait till the next time to drive it.. I have had no issues so far.. They are reliable if you find a decent one..They are quite peppy and I dont feel in stock form are underpowered.. A turbocharged FC has an amazing potential for HP numbers.. you can even do a v8 swap if thats your thing.. But its up to you.. spending only 1 grand can give you thousands more dollers in addition to make it run right. Why dont you go take that n/a for a drive or drive a tII?? If you do like the FC, go out and look for a really nice turboII or 10th AE TII.

team - if your thinking about gettin a sr20 240 then for about the same money you could get a t2 FC ... both are very similiar they have some different strong point though.

nihil - direct bolt in? wow someone needs to search.

I just recently got into the boosting scene... It's beautiful. Skip the N/A and get a T2. Or buy the N/A and make it a T2!

Get the n/a while you can if it does not need too much work and the price is right, then after you enjoy the natural power and feel of the rotary engine, swap a T2 in due time and crave for the Boost. I have a 90 gxl n/a lightly modded and have too much fun with the car, can only imagine if I turbo it what the results would be.

Go for the 7 anyhow

Mods:
hks hi-flo intake
ported intake mani
street-port
r/b headers
full 2.5 exhaust w/ dual magnaflows
hi-flo cat
sachs sport clutch dual/fric (daily driven)
8mm racing wires
ngk-r plugs
93 gas
removed a/c and p/s
95 R1 wheels 16's

my friend got a 93 240 stock and a week later i bought my 87 t2, i drove his car and mine and truthfully i love driving mine about 100x more, just as good on handling, t2 is faster, love hearing the bov from teh booooost and ya just the look of the fc rapes most 240's ive seen.....plus just to be able to say ur car runs the same way ur lawn mower does it schweeeet xD jk lol but ya man id choose a rx7 over 240 anyday(in exception of the horrible as fuxxxx gas mileage
but the true choice is urs

I have a 90 N/A that I have had for the last 10 years. I still love to drive the car every day and even autocross it with the SCCA and can beat Miatas. I still to this day think it is a blast to drive.
