Jantore, would you ever consider bringing that car to the states to compete in the Pikes Peak international hill climb? The 2009 event was just this past Sunday, and I have to say, I think your car would be VERY competitive in the open class, not to mention how awesome it would be to see and hear a 4 rotor at the event. There was an FC that was supposed to be in the race, but it didn't start. Seems to be a popular event with you scandinavian types (Marcus Gronholm was there in an 800hp Fiesta this year)

The race is not for the faint of heart though for sure, driving up at 15mph is pretty scary in some places...

I was in both of those locations sunday
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcGwq5VNknQ

I did get altitude sickness after being at 13,000ft for 14 hours.

hmmmm no, it's not a car to be driven on gravel. it's a track car only. but the nevada open road challange, that is something diffrent. but then i would need some sponsors. as im totaly broke now :P

There is talk that pikes peak may be paved the entire way up by next year. I don't think your car would have much problem with the gravel sections though, its damn near as smooth as the tarmac and there are quite a few drift cars that go up without problems.

A freind of mine bought a Gopro digital waterproof camcorder. And we tested it out yesterday at our local track. The sound is crappy, due to the camera beeing inside a waterproof box. But still a video.

I freind also did get some outside shots of the car with his HD camera. So will get back to that once he has edited the tape.

???

quick question here... i got my 90 rx7 n/a a few months ago. wasnt interested in a rotary till i drove one. drove it for a few months didnt think it was quick till i pulled on a 04 STI (intake only otherwise stock) with 300 pounds of stuff in the car (was moving to another duty station) from 0-125 he never pulled away from me. i recently took it to a 1/8th mile track and went 9.7 @ 94mph. back to my question... whats the point in all the "left over" rpms when i'm seeing the things fall on their face at 7500 rpm based on dyno charts?

my car has:
JDM T2 trans
411 rearend
460 primary 580 sencondary
light weight pullys
alum radiator
fresh rebuild
balenced
intake manifold ported
full race header
full 3 inch exhaust
cat delete
reflash ecu
255 wlbro....
i think thats it..

Is the engine ported? If not in most cases there really isn't a reason to over rev it.

No idea, the spedo is not working due to the Tremec TKO transmission. But i let of at about 7000 rpm in 4th. and it's 1:1 in 4th. Top speed at 9000 rpm in 4th is 245 or something.

It should be about 193km/h at 7000 rpm in 4th. Wich is not fast enough, it should be 220 or something.

So i have found my problem with the engine cutting at 6500-7000 rpm. I have alot of sync errors on the trigger, and it looks to be the trigger it self that ***** up at high rpm once it gets varm. Cause it works perfect when the engine is "cold" and the trigger is cold.
So just orderd a new one, wich is about 30 USD.

That's one reason why I love the simplicity of my carb setup. There are so many electrical components that can leave you stranded on an EFI system.

Thanks guys

The engine and transmission will be dropped over into a new Chassi for next year. As i want to make a new firewall and transmission tunnel. And also make a side exhaust on the car. And will need room for alot of mufflers for that. Well more info will come once i start on the new chassi.

Ultimatejay

Carbs has it's possitive sides, but alot of drawbacks. It's so much easier to get alot of HP and stable HP with a computer controlled system with injectors.

Hi.

High altitude without Turbo = Low power.

You really need a turbo to compensate in this race.

And I know bechause I raced there in 1998 on NA (250 Motorcycle). The reduction in power from start to finish is just incredible (negative).

Another thing is chassis. It is really nice to have AWD, as you tend to slide around and the AWD keeps it a little more "secure". Remember - there are no room for errors here. Go off, and your best hope is a parashute.

But go there anyway. It is an experience like no other.
