87TII, ported wastegate, upgraded turbo...

I am just wondering what kind of boost I could safely run on an 87 TII if the wastegate was ported and the turbo was upgraded. Also I have heard about having the turbo upgraded but what exactly do they do to it? Thanks alot.

If the motor is in good condition: With the right fuel and a boost controller you could go to 10-12 psi. Upgrading is in stages and it all depends on the stage that you get. It can go from something mild such as lightening the rotating assembly to clipping and replacing the compressor with a larger one. all depends on your needs and budget.

Well what is a ballpark figure for clipping and replacing the compressor with a larger one? And how much should a shop charge to port the wastegate? Oh ya, after that is done I would need a boost controller to up the boost, is that right? Thanks alot.

Hey thanks for the links.

reted I didn't see any prices on that site, do you know where they are?

felix, I couldn't decide what setup I would want to get. I want to run basically down in the 11s eventually, but for now at least 12s. Would the stage I upgrade work for that? Says for 300rwhp, is that enough to get in the mid 12s? Also what size external wastegate would go with that?

Thanks alot guys.

Hey whats up all. I am changing my site a little here in the near future. I have developed a way to get a 30+mm wastegate port in the 87-88 turbine housing, and not w/o an external wastegate! NO MORE BOOST SPIKE! If you have any questions, just email me (BNRsupercars@aol.com
take care!

I don't sell anything on FC3S Pro - it's purely an informational site.&nbsp Most people have their own favorite places to shop for parts.&nbsp If you need prices, I do have the N-XSi shop set-up to handle retail...
