4 Rotor from a different point of view?

So I was thinking, has anybody ever put two 2 rotor engines flywheel to flywheel and taken power from in between them in some way with a couple of ring gears and a single pinion? They could maintain regular rotation in each engine because they would be driving opposite sides of the pinion gear. Take that power through a torque tube, ala 944 Porsche, to a rear tranny...... I see these tractor pullers with like 6 engines and start thinking to much. Now I need to find a car thats wide enough in the engine bay to handle two rotory engines and the center adapter I'm imagineering.
I know tell me I'm nuts...

Less efficient than having one flywheel, lots of wasted space inbetween, and the only car wide enough is a hummer of a buggatti. Its would not be the best for racing, but would be the best for a whacko idea. The only advantage I see, is the price of customizing it would probably be less than getting your hands on a 4 rotor engine. And also, custom making a eccentric shaft for a 4 rotor might be expensive too

everyone talks about 3 and 4 rotor engines... i like seeing them and everything, but unless you've got 800 hp touching the wheels in your 2 rotor, and it's STILL not enough, i'd spend more time trying to max out your current setup.

3 and 4 rotor motors are a whole new can of worms....an expensive can.

Yea, it wouldn't be the best set-up for much of anything that I can think of yet but fun to piece together in my brain. I think you could run without any flywheels on the engines, just a couple of ring gears attached to the e shafts. That would bring up a gear ratio problem though that you would have to work out somewhere in the driveline. It could all fit in an adapter about 4-5 inches wide.
Oh, and I've never had a car with to much HP, to much braking power or handling that was to good!
