RX7 vs. Sports Bike (different kind of kill)
This video is from the track we go to.
I was on the track at same time as this bike, who tried to catch me. He couldn't
I was running 9-10psi.
Enjoy

it even has a honda engine......
Rider skill has ALOT to do with how well the bike appears to go around corners. Most riders cannot achieve 80% of the bikes potential. I have never seen a car come close to keeping up with me on any mountain road even with "less lateral grip". The comparo I believe was between a Z06 and a gix 1000, I read some corner speed charts and the gix was all over the Z06.
Does anyone remember the top gear test they did a while back with the lambo and the duc 999? I believe the duc with far less power than the jap liter bikes still ended up on top. It was a close race but "winning is winning" lol.

i have stock gearing on my bike, its a monster. six speed gearbox, and does 104 mph in first i popped wheelies doin 150+...my friends were in awe, i also own a 03 gsxr 1000, silver, no comparison, the new kawais are just incredible. The 636 kawi, the baby ninja is so strong that it beats every bike except the gsxr 750 and my bike in the road course. i dont care about twisties, if the car started with the bike i can tell u the bike will win...but i say this, here in ny where the street are ****, i can get beat by a fast car because i am afraid to die from hittin a serious pothole or taking a 50 feet leap off an uneven surface. it easy to do 120 in a car windows rolled up, try it on a bike, when ur the chassis

guys welcome to the real world i have been into rotaries for over 15 years we'll never beat a machine with almost 200 hp and weights 440 lbs, and accells to 14k rpm in each gear.lol stop dreamin, i love my fd's but they cant **** with reality, simple physics man hp/w8t ratio ...look at the scenario 2800lb rx7, at best 500 hp on 93 oct, 200 hp at 440 lbs...double the weight of the bike now, matter of fact triple it, and do the same for the hp, see what i mean

2004 Kawasaki NINJA® ZX-10R Wins Cycle World Sportbike Shootout
at May 12, 2004 08:29:50 by webmaster
The editors of Cycle World magazine recently brought together the motorcycle world’s top Japanese one-liter sportbikes for a knock-down, drag-out comparison test. After wringing them out on the race track, drag strip and twisty back roads, they chose the all-new 2004 Kawasaki NINJA® ZX-10R as their winner.
Here’s a sample of what they had to say in their June 2004 issue about the NINJA ZX-10R—the new king of superbikes:
“From our first ride aboard the Kawasaki ZX-10R earlier that morning, it became clear that this bike is best! It’s totally dominated by its motor, with an incredible midrange hit that makes you leery of turning the throttle when you’re leaned over near the tire’s edge. Once you do pull the trigger, you’d best hang on because the ZX floats its front wheel out of corners like no other.”
“Putting the spurs to the wild-n-wooly 10R at Infineon took all the courage I could muster.”
“Just for kicks, I held the Kawi’s throttle wide-open in first gear until the engine hits the rev-limiter, and the speedo indicates 104 mph. Few gauges are totally accurate, I know, but even accounting for a little electronic optimism, that’s smokin’ fast!”
“The big, blue NINJA has the mother of all midrange hits, accompanied by a telltale Kawasaki growl. It epitomizes everything we’ve come to expect from an Open-class sportbike engine, so forceful that you’d better be pointed in the right direction when you twist the throttle. You can pull out and pass a car on the R1, no problem, but you can pull out and pass a dozen on the ZX-10R!”
“In the end, we could have made a strong case for picking any of these bikes as the winner, but chose the strongest of them all. In his own inimitable way, Cernicky summed it up best: ‘If there were four keys sitting on this table, I’d takes the Kawasa-key.’”

believe it or not my r1 will go over 100 in first too. As far as the kawi's killin everrything that may be a little far fetched, every mag will tell you something else, especially with who is the "fastest" around some track. No doubt they are great bikes but all modern superbikes/sports are within a hair of eachother.
i beleive it was top gear or somone did a test between one of the fastest road bikes u can buy and a porsche 911 turbo. They stated the the porches was not even in the supercar category. The porsche barely won. In the corners the porsche ate it up. On a back straight the bike walked on the porsche as if it were standing still. But in the end the car won. I modded FD on a road course should have no problem beating a bike. Bikes granted are fast, but in corners they just cant compare. Oh the guy driving the bike was a superbike champ. Not some amaetur

no straights aswell, unless the guy on the bike had some massive cohonas no one would try passing a car in the twisties on a bike....
