Tyrael6666, Not only was the rider of the bike a 'real world' professional, but is says right in the begining that the Porche used is NOT a supercar by anymeans. They acutally say how it is the Carrera 4, meaning 4 wheel drive, making it a heavier car, and a slower car. IT simply loses so much to parasitic loss, it's just crazy.
The fast ones are the 2 wheel drive turbo models. They used the porches ( I belive- correct me if I'm wrong) to show that a somewhat regularly attainable car would do against a regularly attainable bike. In this case , both had professional drivers, and it was on a controlled track. From everything I know about top gear, all the cars they use have no connection to any dealer or manufacturer. They get the cars from independant sources, and do not say what they will be using them for. This gives an unbiased comparison.

Of course if any manufacturer knew what that particular car was gonna be used for, no doubt they'd make sure it's tip top shape.

And as has been said, if it were a different track, different drivers, anything, the outcome could have been drastically different.

But again.
This is why there are NO classes pitting Bikes against Cars. It's just dumb.

enuff about the porsche though, in all seriousness the rider and driver make a big differance obviously, but i am glad we are on the topic again, but my point was that i feel it wouldnt happen to me...i am no pro rider, but i am pretty fast, and i was saying that with a machine pumpin out 104 mph in 1st alone, which is been proven by mags, awards, accolades, and countless riders, among them myself...which i mite i add i didnt believe till i did it...its harder to believe that a weak porshe will beat it..thats all i was sayin concerning the topic, and certainly on a str8 away no stock rx7 or even modded 1 with street tires can touch any of the new bikes.

btw top speed i reached so far was 197 couldnt tell had to guess, had to let it go down after i couldnt see where i was goin because of wind turbulence.. i-17 i believe in south carolina

 

a motorcycle gear ratios are different or measure different than a car..

so just because 1st gear can reach 100mph, doesnt mean by the end of top gear, its like 300mph plus..
