I pass cars in twisties all the time, it only takes a second! The new k5 suzuki, the 10r, and the new r1 WILL in fact go over 100 mph in first gear I have done it personally. If you dont believe me pick up a mag that reviews/compares the new liter bikes they will tell you the same thing.

i love how when people see the proof, they try to disagree with it. On the bike forum i got it off of. The guys who were the veterans, and are good riders, said that was a fair race. All of the young newbie guys keep saying it was staged. If you think about it, when have u ever seen a bike race a car on a track. Thats why it looks so different and setup. The funny this is both the bike and the car in that vid have basically the same 60-0ft brake. Its like 122ft for both. The car was able to swing wide on corners, and take chances. The bike however had to be careful and watch hes lines alittle more. I do think it takes some skill to ride a bike good. But im sorry the bike got beat this time. Maybe on a more open track with longer sweepers, the bike may have won, but this race the car came out on top

i never stated i would take a bike from a dig! i said that from a 40mph roll im able to pull an 04 gsxr 1000. and as for power to weight when you are rolling thats changes things, and just so you know there are street cars in the low 10s high 9 that would be a good run for you, from a dig!

all this about bikes vs cars is really funny IMHO.

It's like comparing apples to oranges.

On a bike, there is only so far you can lean, at so much a speed before you deck out. It's physics!(never thought that would come back to haunt ya?!?!?) Anyone who has ever rode a bicycle or motorcycle will know what I'm talking about.Please correct me if i'm wrong, but I think that .8-.95 G is the most anyone can pull on a bike. more than that, and you're in the haybales


In a car, due to the weight dist. and the Center of Gravity, makes a car able to be 'thrown' around a corner, usually with little to no ill effects. I'm sure we've all seen the race cars going around a turn with thier inside rear tire off the ground. This demonstrates how a car can really push through the corners. There are so many cars that pull 1.2, 1.3, or 1.5 G.

Additionally:

A bike (providing you've got some normal stock width tires) will have maybe 8-12 Sq In of tire contact up front and maybe 10-16 Sq. In. of tire contact out back. That is being generous. Go measure where you're bikes tires sit on the ground, and you'll see.

A car (assuming stock 7" wide and 29" tall)has 14-20 Sq. In. of tire contact . That's only ONE WHEEL!.
so if you've got some meaty tires, you've got at least 80-100 Sq. In of tire contact.
Tire contact can be equated to grip.


Also, you'd have to be really skilled to even come close to riding a sport bike like that. Loads of power(even on a small displacement bike), balance, keeping the front tire down when accelerating, and keeping the back tire down under heavy braking, not to mention that YOU are the center of gravity, makes a good sport bike racer a very talented driver.

yeah my seven pulled on bikes too, shitty ones, very old ones, or hogs, but not on a r1, zx10r, gsxr 1000...never ..they can smoke me in 1st gear......in 3rd those bikes approach 150 mph stock!..a lil turbo on any of these and its over...besides they white line and all too...u know many times tthe hiway cops have chased me..many, i am still here thanx too super acceleration, i mean souped up camaro, and mustang hiway cars, even some with slicks, in nyc. because we have sum heavy hitters here , the cop cars arent ordinary on the hiway, they top off at 160, and accel to 10 sec 1/4 miles...those are rare though, but they are out there. i know this this howvere i slow down a lot on a curve caueit can be my last, but when i am in the car, i am brash and brave...like mordechai...and i talk all kinda **** to bikers then

another *** kisser, guys get real show me a video of u racing a bike , i had a link of a 1000 hp corvette with nitrous...from a rollin start he barely beat a 180 hp hyabusa, those are the numbers we are speakin about, not sum corny 400 hp rx7 or 600 hp supra with 10,000 pounds of metal on it. if u want a chance to beat bike get a 1000 hp v8 then maybe u mite make it! other then that stick to beatin cars...and not lookin at promotional videos from porsche

I do ride, I recently sold my '04 CBR600, and have ridden various other bikes, form zx-7Rs to CBR1000RRs.. I know how fast these bikes are, and there are very, very few street cars that can keep up. But I also know that it doest really take too much for a modded car to hang with /beat a 600cc bike even on a straight. Like i said before, a bit over 300RWHP in a FD should about do it, especially from a highway roll. The newer 1000s are a different story of course, but still doable with enough power. You also cant deny the fact that you just cant get the corner grip on a bike that you can from a car. The light weight and ability to cut a wider line does make up for it a bit, but a car like a Z06 or a modded FD will be capable of beating 600cc bikes on a track, and possibly even 1000s with a poor rider.

first your zx10r is a piece of sh##$%. you own a kawi and that explains alot. anyone ever see a zx10r up close, the build quality is horrible. It looks like it was built in china on the same assembly line as the knock off pocket bikes you see around.. honestly really cheap parts... but i guess you get what you pay for and thats why they are giving those things away around here.

Second stop talking about having a 9.5 sec quarter mile bike.. Because YOU will never be able to ride it like that.. You would be lucky if you went 11's so knock it off because there are plenty of 11 sec cars that would hand it too you from a stop and make you look like an idoit on your 9.5 sec bike.

You ever read Road and track magazine dude? You would see there is an article the top superbike versus the top super cars (911 ruf turbo, Murcielago, Ford GT, Corvettechamp car....) in the 1/4 0-100 0-200. Anyway, the bike tied the champ car as fastes to 60 but was mid pack to anything past 100 because bikes are not as sleek aerodinamically than cars thats why it placed farther behind. So anyway, while you run your mouth about your badass crotchrocket know what you are talking about.

I'm sorry, I have to chime in on this real quick. I guess you could say I am a "retired" motorcycle roadracer, I'm 25 but I don't race anymore because of injuries. I am now a rep for a major motorcycle parts/accessories distibutor, and a Race Support Rep for Joe Rocket, Michelin, Leo Vince, Arai, and a few others. To say the least I am at the track A LOT. I have been in the presence of all kinds of top riders, factory riders, people you normally only see in magazines. First thing I have to say is yes, todays sportbikes are FAST. They make a lot of power and have really high HP/weight ratios. No-the ZX10R does not make 204 HP. 180 to the flywheel is more like it. No, the average Joe on a bike cannot keep up with a decent sports car on a road course. Yes, most liter bikes will kill most cars at the dragstrip. I have seen supras, FD's, Vipers, etc, etc, pull on literbikes, no matter whos driving. It happens a lot. Check out www.streetfire.net, in the bikes section, lot of videos there of just that happening. You can build a 500hp bike, and you can build a 500hp car, and you know whos going to win at the strip? The car-I don't know numbers-but can you say tire surface area? I'm really not trying to take any particular side here but AngelRx, you keep talking about ***** and what not but it sounds like you are the kind of guy that only wears out the MIDDLE of your tires. Anybody can get on a bike and just nail the throttle. Take it to a course and try dragging your knee around a corner at 100mph and then talk about *****.
