What does the F430 run in the 1/4 mile? Low 12's right?
I ran low 12's@116mph with my FD when it only had...
Intercooler
Chipped ECU
Downpipe
Midpipe with high-flow cat
2.5" Catback
Boost controller running 13.5psi
I don't see why a ported motor running 12psi couldn't slightly edge out a F430 if they also run low 12's.
PS, I would kill to own a F430.

zoom zoom go boom
You'll win. I once raced one in my old TII. I had basic perf mods, he was stock (I assume). We kept locking up. We'd both jump and stay beside each other. It was cool to see his arm come out the window and give me the thumbs up when he turned off. Made me feel good.

I own both a Ferrari and a FD. Granted my Ferrari is vintage but going to the Ferrari of Atlanta events I have got to play around with several.
1st: Ferraris are incredibly hard to drive.
2nd: Most are geared poorly for straight line acceleration. The manual gear boxes are also pretty clunky... Most F430s are F1 transmissions so that probably wasn't a factor.
3rd: For what ever reason Ferraris lose a LOT of power from claimed HP to wheel HP. There are several in the Dynolab book (Dyno shop in Atlanta) that are just pitiful. Mine is supposed to make 270 at the flywheel but barely makes 210whp. A little over a 20% loss. The motor only has 32K on it and it is exceptionally well maintained.
4th: A lot of Ferrari drivers are not particularly skilled drivers. (Go to a Ferrari track day) There are some fast guys but they most likely wont street race. Most of the fast guys at the track have the Challenge models and have a different car for the street.
All in all it is very believable that a bolt on FD can beat a Ferrari F430.

ok guys the truth lies here....
the blonde in the ferrari was so dumb she pulled his hand brakes thinking its his *****!
just kidding
i would run a ferrari on my 94 corolla just to see it run...
but at the end of the day, ferrari's aren't the fastest cars on the road... nope.. not the f430. not saying they are slow... but they arent the impossible to beat. i believe the OP about the win, there are too many factors in street racing.

Ho's and Cadillac Doors
I got a speeding ticket on Friday for doing 89 in a 70 while playing with a 360 Modena. We were on I95 in South Carolina and I rolled up next to him and got his attention. Nothing serious, we just got on it up to about 120 or so, and ended up passing 2 cops while going somewhere in the ballpark of 100. My damn Passport didn't even pick up on them, so I'm led to believe they didn't have radar on. They pulled both of us over, cop asked me how fast I was going and I told him I wasn't sure, I was just keeping up with traffic. He came back with my ticket and I was relieved that he didn't cite me for going 30+ over.

(My opinion, from personal experience) Better "driving" although not necessarily faster cars than a 360:
Top 5:
- 5. E46 M3
- 4. 95 NSX
- 3. Esprit
- 2. 575 Maranello
- 1. Vanquish S

More than likely a 360 Modena, they are not fast at all. Out here in NYC I see them all the time and have beaten a few on the highway. No big deal, a bolt-on FD like mine can do it easily. If its the F430, I call BS, but the OP himself has said hes not sure which it was so I believe he beat a 360.
