1 bar boost

303whp at 6,300rpm
280wtq at 5,100 rpm
it drives like it has 400ish, losing traction in third is a real possibility and threat
I raced dave in december when he was running 5psi and I was using 13psi haha it wasn't close. I really want to remtch him with his new tune. His turbo is fat and I bet it screams.

Nice numbers bet it is fun as hell! I have always thought it was kinda weird to race another rx7, I guess I just feel like I would be fighting my own kind. Us rotary guys gotta stick together we grow smaller by the day lol.

anything is possible on the hwy. I raced my friends e46 M3 w/ 150 shot, stripped, 3100 lb with 410 gear, and got pulled by about 2 CLs. his car dynoed around 430 rwhp. I also raced my friends 02 cobra with a vortex supercharged, about 460 rwhp and 410 gear, he pulled me maybe .5 CL depends on launch and speed, a driver's race. I raced my buddy's 01 Yamaha R6, and we were dead even from a 80ish roll. Anything is possible. I dynoed 350ish rwhp on my stock twins..14 psi..large street port..

Make an assessment...

I've only read approx. the first 10 posts, but I just rebuilt my engine in March...heavy streetport on stock twins (at the time without a boost controller and a basic tune dumping in quite a bit of fuel to make sure there was enough), full through exhaust (ZERO emissions) and intakes, and some other mods...it ran up to 15psi and ran like a raped ape. I was really shocked too. So I'm not doubting this story, I just never thought an FD with stock twins with beat a Ferrari. Nice job.

I dont think it happened. Before I went 20B I had a T-78 13B R1 around 450hp that could not keep up with the F430. 100% not able to get it from a standing start, and 3 different rolls it pulled on me. I consider myself a decent driver, however the driver of the F430 was better than me...

lol now that doesnt make sense, if you have 450 rwhp and a ferrari f430 has around 430 rwhp and you weigh in about 500 pounds less dont you think you were doing something wrong? Although from a stop his car is designed to handle what it has as for as power where maybe you just threw a huge turbo on your car and did nothing else? kinda like the ford did to their gt500?

^ Actually I did a lot to my car. You can look it up. I didnt have slicks on my car, and couldnt get close to the launch an F430 can. The thing sticks to the ground, squats and just goes. From a roll I am not real sure
Your numbers on Ferrari HP are also off. It is well known that they understate the power in their cars. 490 is the understated HP number on the F430.

Ho's and Cadillac Doors
And whoever is talking about driver skill, you're kidding right? They were rolling on the highway, is there a whole lot of skill involved with selecting the right gear and mashing the throttle?

True, I would imagine I was mistaken and it was a similar looking Ferrari given its stats(wish I was trapping 120).
But when you compare it to me it's not 490/3300 vs. 317/2800, since mine is at the wheels you can deduct 15%(give or take) to get an idea of its wheel horsepower and my fd was dyno''d on a dyno dynamics and it is the base model with basic weight reductions.
So even though it is unlikely it was the f430 the gap is not as big as some might think.
I do agree about the racing on the freeway, I don't know if I explained this that well, when we raced he got a big jump on me like a whole car or maybe a little more at that point I thought I lost but then I slowly slowly started to pull. So I don't know how if he did manage not to downshift to the right gear he would have made it up in that time don't you think?

the 430 has a wicked strange sounding high pitched engine --similar to the porche carrera gt 300k supercar.
Ive heard both- some rich idiot near pinehurst tx has a black gt (must be an oil exec or won lottery) that I had the chance to hear run.
Also in the Woodlands walmart at night a 430 (the new ferrari not 360) pulled up behind me. This car was wicked--I dont think 12 psi would have been enough bro
Very strange idle and engine sound...something that belongs on the track not in traffic
GOOD KILL if it wasnt a fiero or wet dream!
Hey-Ive had a kickass fiero...the only cars I lost to were a Buick GN and late model supra. It had a LT1 w/ punisher package
I probably would have lost to a tuned or dialed in 3rd gen FD
FD's are fastass...thats why i got 1 now

wow ok so I read this entire thread and as someone who has driven ferraris that come into the shop i can say the 430 is actually gimp in many ways when compared to other cars. Sure it has a fast 0-60 of 3.5 secs but from a rolling start its pretty slow. Hell sadly the Vette gave this car a whipping. The car has 480hp and only 340ft lbs torque. But get to third gear and there is nothing no power just long gears to make you go 200mph. That and given the fact that most guys that own them can't drive anyway sure he could win. I am however going to say i dont buy this one. Two reasons your in a stock sequentialed car on the highway and you claim you got Turbo Lag??? that statement in its own is hillarious. first off those turbos you have are tiny as hell so they dont present much lag even at a stand still but being on the highway you have the ability to shift into any gear to put yourself in the power range instantly. I.E no lag. So all you did was prove that you can't drive here. So the second reason you didnt win is cause well you can't drive. I'm going to say that the guy beat you and you followed him and while he was being nice and asking you about the car really he only stopped so you could drool over his car and his hot blonde in the passenger seat. and if for some reason you did beat someone that night then it wasn't a 430.

Well I guess I should have explained better, I downshifted to second and yeah I got into boost pretty quickly but I had to wait for them to convert to parallel and thats when I start creeping so not only to I go from one turbo to two I get a couple extra psi as well.
Its really easy to be a dick on this forum so I thank you for putting in your share of it.
What type of vette beats this ferrari the zo6 or just the standard c6? My little brother has the c6 but wont race me I think he would beat me but you never know.
