I Purchased Allrotors 94 VR touring r85 Single turbo car a month ago (BTW great guy), and since have been swaping stuff back and forth between my old and new FD. I got it registered last week. One of the guys that works with me is a huge FD Fan. He originally was going to purchase Allrotors car, but decided to turbo is S2000 instead. Anyways, he also has an Honda RVT1000 (AKA RC51). 1000cc's, v twin, pretty exotic for a bike. Yesterday we got the boost controller working on the low setting (18lbs on pump gas) and we drove the car together, and he says "you know, this car is obscenely fast, it may be as fast as my Honda." So we snuck out last night and we did some runs on the highway (lets not get into that that bike would do to me on launch). We were rolling from 55, I was in 3rd at about 4400 or 4500 RPM. He said he was ready @ about 7000, and he redlines @10,000, so our shift points are going to be within split seconds. We let off at about 110. The bike and my FD are virtually Dead even to about 90, but at the top of third and hitting fourth, my FD Pulls on him in a noticable way. I lost sight of him (just out of my side vision) he will have to chime it and give his point of view. Also, earlier that day, I ran with one of my best friends 94 Viper RT10, straight piped, intake and roe racing timing kit and for once a viper didn't even make me nervos. It was like a cat playing with a mouse. Needless to say, he has deep pockets so I sure he will be a force to be dealt with, because he just ordered the roe racing supercharger with all the boltons which should be good for 700 wheel horse, and more in torque. That will be a good kill or Got killed story when that day comes. Anyways, we are going to try and get the Bike run on video. To end it, Going single (which was what I was about to do before I purchased this new "done" FD) was one of the best mods I have ever done. By the way, here in Utah, we are at about 4500 ft of elevation, which really mellows out the bike, but my car also was running pig rich in North carolina, and even worse here at elevation. I need to get the final tuning done. Regardless it was insane experience, and the car is faster than my nerves can handle sometimes. In the end, for me, straight line performance is not what I love most about my car, it is everything else. Just thought I would share, Greg in Utah. These cars really can be monsters.

Hell yeah, when they have a full system on them it's one of, if not the best sounding sport bikes out there.

What a AWSOME race! My name is JR. I have been a member on this site for....wow.....6 years. I am in love with the FD and actually met my buddy greg through RX7's. BUT lets get to the point.
I was the one on the RC51. My bike has full Titanium exhaust, and YES, it does sound GOOD! I have never seen a car next to me so what a experience. For those that don't know the RVT1000R is honda's superbike because it does displace 1000 cc's but would race in the 750 class. Or so I have been told. The bike can run 10's all day long so to see a car next to me was just awsome. I started in 3rd gear at about 7 grand, so right in my power band. We were side by side all the way to 80 mph, then he slowly started pulling away. What a amazing site to see! Hope all of you one day can get your cars to that level. I would love to see more FD running around like this one. This car is a 600'd worst nightmare. Have a good one guys

Allrotor,
Sellers remorse, is a bitch! Buyers remorse is bliss!
The R85 spools super quick. In 4th will boost starts to come on around 2800 and will be full boost by 4k all the way up to 9k. The turbo is totally drivable and the spool is totally liniar and predictable. Wonderful turbo. I would suggest it to anyone who wants to go single. THANKS ALLROTOR!

What are the HP/TQ, and weight ratings on the Rc51? I myself have a '04 CBR600, and to me the RVT doesnt seem as fast as my bike.. Just wondering, could be an illusion because of how the power comes on.
-edit- I think I found the specs online. 123HP, and a weight of 489lbs. Whereas my F4i is 120HP and 370lbs. I understand the RC51 is a V engine, but still for a 1000 that HP seems low?

The reason it didn't feel that quick is because it actually has torque unlike a 600 4 banger. The the power is very even, unlike your 600 where you have NOTHING, then WAM at 10 grand start coming alive. The RC51 is just a animal, with power for 3 grand all the way up. No waiting with that bike. And yes it has 128 WHP, while your 600 has 120 from the crank. If the RC51 felt slow to you ride it again and keep that in mind. If you get the chance, race one and see how you fair.
NO MATTER WHAT, they are both fun bikes, just two diffrent creatures.

2 things.
1. The RC51 is going to make much more power quicker than the 600. Look at the dyno charts and you will see what I mean.
2. Weight is only a factor at slower speeds if you're trying to compair the speeds in a straightline. Once you get moving and are close to 100mph the weight isn't going to matter much anymore, and before that the RC51 has much more torque to get it moving over the 600.
Both are great bikes though.

RC's dyno around 120-125 hp and 70-75 lbs torque when modded.
F4i's dyno around 95-100 hp and 40-45 lbs torque when modded.
I work at a Honda shop with dyno Your F4i only feels faster.
