guys the viper is over rated yes the figures look great but buy the jeremy clarkson dvd, he races a viper round a track with a bmw z 4 with only 340 flywheel horses and the z4 wins.

y would we compare these cars stock for stock. Cause a stock viper is really a race car that cost a grip. While an fd has not been given much stock. Look at what comes stock on a viper and what comes stock on an fd thats not even a fair to compare. Either way 7s are bad ***, vipers are cool....but when a 1.3l can handle a 7l viper....well thats just pure sex.

I go over to the guy and start talking to him and he is telling me how fast it is and that he races it at the track and on the streets and he loves to spank imports. so i ask him if he wants to go out to the highway and run em after the show. he asks what i have and i tell him and as soon as i say 1993 rx-7 his attitude begins to change from cocky to cockless and by the end of the conversation he has to take his wife out to eat right after the show and isnt gonna have time to race me and refuses to meet another time. one of his buddies quickly says that he will race me if we do a mile instead of a quarter and when i quickly accept he changes his mind and says he is going out to eat too and that he doesnt live in the area(which he actually only lives 20 mins from me). It was pretty funny to see all these cocky *** guys turn into complete pussies in front of a very large crowd of over 50ppl. any of you guys ever had this happen?
actually, I just thought of something, they said that the viper was running 12.2 in the 1/4. Doesn't a 350whp FD with a good driver hit those numbers??
im gonna go with the BS...come on..a Viper....505 hp and equal torque. I dont care how shitty everyone claims handeling is....youre not going to out corner 200+ hp than you got, especially on one corner on the street and the torqueless wonders that rotories are. I am a big fan of the Rx-7s, have many myself, but Vipers arent toys. Also, they tend to get a bad wrap for hadleing because they are torque monsters, not just something yo ucan mass the gas in and go fast, takes a bit of finese that many critics prolly dont have. no offense anyone, but really, $80,000 Viper.........just dont buy it. HP will win nearly everytime as long as weights arnt out of sight.
