my buddy at work got the new scion tc. i have a 87 base with exhaust. after work we pulled up next to each other at a light and he was like lets go. and weve been waiting for awhile to see whos was faster. well i had raced him in my old car and he wasted me but he didnt launch so i decided that i wouldnt destroy my clutch and i just started normal and then floored it(bad idea) he launched at like 4 or 5k and got a car length on me right at the start. my actuators are tied open so he kept pulling until i hit about 4.5k in 1st. by the end of second i had gained about half a car and then we shut down. i see him everyday at work so well just run again sometime. i think if i had launched at like 4k it wouldve been a pretty close race.(and if he gets on me for beating me ill just remind him that my car is 17 years old and he paid 17 times more for his car )

 

does that come supercharged? or is it an option because i heard that there was a factory supercharger in development for that car

 

no his isnt supercharged. they are 160hp na and 200hp with supercharger. hes gonna get the supercharger for it though. i think my cars probably at about 150hp. his car weighs 2950.

 

Those things are absolute baby cows.
I've allready beaten 2 with my stock J30!!

Both kills were on the hwy. I found out the TC runs out of breath at 113mph (don't know if that is governor or not). Anyways my J30 is governor limited to 125mph or so, and I passed both of them doing 120mph+. No wonder they both looked at me with a face

 

if you get a legit clutch you wont have to worry about launching..
